I have been working at First Commonwealth Bank

    Pros

    There are none at all

    Cons

This place is awful. They got rid of anybody who did their job and kept horrible people that don't have a clue. Expect to preach financial education to customers but expect employees to survive on no hours

    Advice to Management

Get a clue. Other banks are laughing at you.

I worked at First Commonwealth Bank

    Pros

The company is going through some changes that includes downsizing. I don't necessarily disagree with the changes as the financial industry is rapidly changing. I think anyone who is young and motivated can fight their way up the ranks as the company does recognizes talent.

    Cons

As true with most mid-sized corporations, one needs to understand corporate politics and have a defined career path to achieve success.

    Advice to Management

Employee evaluations should be more transparent

I have been working at First Commonwealth Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great community bank that cares about its customers. Doesn't treat them like a number. Hours of operation are nice. Not much else nice to be said unfortunately.

    Cons

Where do I begin. They're cutting hours for full timers to at least 30 hours. Part timers are being cut to 20 hours. Benefits are ok but it's a high deductible plan. You can get an HSA but the company doesn't contribute to it. Incentive is paid quarterly and is okay. Base pay is okay as well. But definite room for improvement. Corporate politics and popularity play a big part in this company if you wanna go anywhere....

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your employees. It's about quality not quantity. Time to reevaluate your pay structure, among other things.

    Cons

Upper management do not care about employees, they are simply just numbers to them...not valued as humans

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at First Commonwealth Bank full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There are none other than most of the tellers are make the job somewhat bearable.

    Cons

Unrealistic teller goals, must telemarket, low pay, low raises, FULL-TIME is now 30 hours a week (Most full-time employees, other than management, will lose a total of one week's pay per month), fired long term dedicated employees.

    Advice to Management

Treat your tellers as if they matter, because THEY DO. Pay your tellers a living wage and they might want to go the extra mile to get those extra accounts. The clients are turned off by the constant harassment of opening new accounts, they already have accounts! Give potential clients a reason to open accounts! Please come work the teller line on a Friday and learn what really happens!

I have been working at First Commonwealth Bank

    Pros

vacation and 401 k health care

    Cons

company makes rapid decisions that impact personnel without thought. the higher ups also give many different directions to go but none of the directions match up. You are told to do one thing one week and another thing the next.

    Advice to Management

think before you make decisions and make sure you are all on same page

I have been working at First Commonwealth Bank part-time for more than a year

    Pros

401k matching, good travel pay, and great employees at the branches.

    Cons

I took this position as a way to gain experience coming out of college. I was hired as part time although i work 40 hour weeks often. The company has been hiring mostly just part timers to avoid having to pay health insurance and other benefits then making them work the same hours as full time employees. Complicated programs and outdated pho es, scanners, and 12 year old computers make things very frustrating. Employees...

I have been working at First Commonwealth Bank full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The leadership of the company is forward looking, wants to take the company to the next level for the customers and employees.

    Cons

Not all employees are happy with change, not accustom to the level of accountability to set them up for success in the changing banking industry.

I have been working at First Commonwealth Bank

    Pros

Senior management encouraging individuals to take risks, and take initiative. If you prove yourself as competent, can work independently to certain extent.

    Cons

Standard bureaucracy for bank. Old school culture is changing - senior management definitely taking steps to change to a more progressive culture.

    Advice to Management

Need a better incentive plan. The standard 2-3% salary increase is insufficient for your top performers
