    Pros

Great life & work balance, managers are very understanding, great benefits and PTO

    Cons

Salary reconstructing has made some positions not able to move up the pay scale.

    Advice to Management

Look to promote from within and notice the talent of the staff already there.

I worked at First National Bank Alaska part-time

    Pros

The company has great benefits and really seems to care about the employees that work there. If you really apply yourself you can easily move up into better positions and eventually after a few years get your own branch or an opportunity to have your own if you have the desire like a friend of mine was able to do. Great company get into it if you can. great benefits even for part time employees like paid holidays, paid time off, and retirement all this is paid out upon leaving the job as well

    Cons

their hire back process is not very friendly to the employee trying to get another job with them after leaving, but it is a great company that is competitive to get into so it makes sense that its hard to get back into it after leaving

    Advice to Management

    keep it going! great company

Community oriented, well retained customers, employess benefits good

    Cons

Some people in the bank are very close minded. Time to come into this century. Needs to take a good look at who they have managing thier branches and why the large turnover rate.

    Pros

Such a good company to work for. They do everything to make you comfortable. They even raised my desk and bought me a new chair because I'm taller than the average person.

    Cons

I can't say anything bad about this company. From the first day, I felt welcomed and I was always happy even if I had a bad day due to customers.

    Advice to Management

I think the only thing I could change with management is that the company needs to move more forward to the technological age, but it's difficult.

    Pros

You get to play detective, its a lot of research and analyzing data. Its rewarding in the sense of you get to go at your own pace even though there is requirements and deadlines.

    Cons

A lot of information to be review, its a lot of alerts and customer accounts to be reviewed. Lots of sitting and looking at the computer.

    Pros

Local to Alaska, promotes business within Alaska.

    Cons

No upward mobility if you're in a smaller community bank.

    Advice to Management

When employees approach you about issues with their supervisors, do not encourage them to take care of the problem themselves.

I worked at First National Bank Alaska full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Most of the employees are good folks, unfortunately these folks usually get chased off by mediocre middle management. Good compensation usually.

    Cons

You often find yourself working outside your job description. Several areas are perpetually understaffed. Poor communication from senior management and middle management isn't honest with senior management. Poor and outdated technology.

    Advice to Management

Bring this bank into the 21st century. Lower level staff need easier access to senior management. Quit overworking your people.

    Pros

    People are friendly and professional.

    Cons

Training could be improved. You have to figure things out yourself and if you call other department some people aren't too helpful.

    Advice to Management

Recognize people that work hard and contribute when making promotions.
