I worked at First Tennessee Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working at First Tennessee was wonderful, because I actually did two jobs - editor of eNews and manager of the charitable foundation. This was the perfect blend for me, combining my love for the community with my creative writing skills. It also gave me the chance to work with terrific people. I have remained friends with many First Tennessee co-workers. That is a tribute to the character of the people who work there, because in other jobs, people gradually lose contact with one another.

    Cons

In the last five years, I've learned so many life lessons. I only wish I had learned them while I worked there, not after. I would have been a better employee!

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. You are beloved by the Memphis community.

I have been working at First Tennessee Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good culture. Pretty good pay compared to industry averages. Management does a pretty good job of asking ways they can improve systems or processes.

    Cons

Political as with any job. Half the people who have themselves started low in the company and progressed to high jobs forgot where they came from and think they’re above some others. I have come to realize upward mobility is harder than it should be in this company.
