I have been working at First Transit full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You can work on your own without someone being on your back all day. At least it's a job and a paycheck. Not much though!

    Cons

Management and supervisors don't care about the job or employees. This is from the drivers to the mechanics and the whole operation. No regards towards the public for there safety since buses are not fixed properly. Really low pay.

    Advice to Management

Take a lot more sense and pride in the whole operation of things within the company.

I worked at First Transit full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Full time work, easy to get the job if your record is clean.

    Cons

Required split shifts almost every day, inconsistent hours, union sucks, low pay, 35 cent a year raise is a joke, I believe top pay is 21.75 an hour and at the rate of 35 cents per year raise it would take over 20 years to top out on pay. That is ridiculous. On top of that the only health coverage is expensive and it's one of the worst I've seen. U pay union dues for no reason. The union does not even try to... mobilize the drivers. There's almost no advancement opportunities. Us drivers make less to transport human beings then someone who transports dirt. Wtf.

I have been working at First Transit full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There are no pros to First Transit. Just ask the drivers contracted out in 2010. Lost pay, benefits and many lost jobs due to wrongful terminations.

    Cons

Hostile and unethical environment. Low pay or no pay on time. Cheats at every opportunity. Violates federal, state laws/regulations and the contract. Always a fight to get proper pay.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and be honest. Treat your employees with respect and respect the contract to which you sign your names to. Pay employees a decent wage and pay the increases when contractually agreed to...not late.
