I have been working at FirstEnergy full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Salary is good. Everyday is diferent. Generally good people to work with. Pretty good benefits including bonus

    Cons

No life, no voice. Promotions based on the "who you know" or who you golf with. Company is behind the curve with regards to latest trends.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to front line supervision.

I have been working at FirstEnergy full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The company generally has good people, good pay and good benefits. The company is for the most part genuinely concerned with safety.

    Cons

While I truly believe the company has good intentions implementation is sometimes the problem. They tend to think there's only one way to do things.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff and their experience without constantly making them waste time trying to prove it to you.

I have been working at FirstEnergy

    Pros

Pay, bonuses, time off, and benefits are good for the area.

    Cons

The company can barely run an ice cream stand let alone a corporation which may be why they are getting out of generation.

    I worked at FirstEnergy

    Pros

    Good pay and good benefits

    Cons

They are very demanding of a person's time above and beyond reasonable use.

    Advice to Management

Instead of demanding a person be immediately available 24/7/365, devise a duty schedule for employees so there is more predictability to off-hours call-ins.

I have been working at FirstEnergy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Money is good, benefits are decent, don't usually work to hard.

    Cons

Forced overtime, meaningless policies and procedures, not much work life balance, Non-union, management and supervision can do as they please.

    Advice to Management

Keep an eye on the core mission, justifying your salary by creating useless and obsurd policy and procedures to make up for the mistakes of perhaps two percent of the Officers only serves to lower the moral of the section.

I have been working at FirstEnergy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay, good benefits and a good amount of vacation time. Having the opportunity to satisfy a customer and assist someone in need.

    Cons

Management puts everything above its employees. It is not a good feeling to go to work and feel like you are unimportant because all that is important to management is making sure stats are being met.
