I worked at Fiserv full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great starter job. Large corporation has it's own set of pros and cons. Lots of funding. Lots of people to get to know. Decent benefits

    Cons

Often get stuck working on the same thing for your entire time there. Can feel a little like a "cog in the machine". Raises were abysmal.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire people at a higher wage than someone there for multiple years that you gave barely a raise to. Also varying the types of work and projects for employees encourages growth and inventiveness.

I have been working at Fiserv full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good company culture, rewards are given for good work.
Managers really care about employees and communications are open, at least with my manager (She is awesome! I cannot be happier having her as my manager.).
Frequent one-on-one meetings to go over weekly/monthly achievements/goals/whatever you want to talk about.

    Cons

Training could be better: need more time and be more detailed, provide some time for us to go over the materials on our own.
Make a move to hire the temps as permanent already, some of us have been temps for over 6 months and are still temps, a lot of us left because of the low temp pay & absence of benefits.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time developing the training.
Something needs to be done about the hiring: retain your people by making the temps permanent.

I have been working at Fiserv full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great facility and coworkers. Strong financial performance and potential.

    Cons

The way we are compensated has very little to do with our performance. Rules for bonus eligible associates change every year (often after the year is over). Beware those that come here.... quoted comp targets do not mean anything.

Also - health benefits and administration of these benefits is a joke. Very expensive plans.... lots of hoops to jump through to keep costs even at these high levels. Lots of non value added checking the box on red brick.

    Advice to Management

Set the rules for compensation before the year starts.... then pay based on those rules. Making your numbers on our backs is not a sustainable Strategy. Jeff is losing the trust of the people.

    Pros

A good working environment and facilities with average benefits and flexible hours. People are very nice and bright. They love you while you are cheap and under 40.

    Cons

Annual RIFs (layoffs). Instead of fixing their products and lack of management, they fire people to improve the bottom line. Profits are up, stock value is high, yet they cut profit sharing and lay people off.

    Advice to Management

Do your jobs. Manage your people. Take responsibility and quick hogging all the money.
