I have been working at Fiserv full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It used to be a great place to work that valued employees...not anymore

    Cons

They don't value talent only the bottom dollar. They are displacing US workers for India associates to squeeze every penny out of the company. They only have a 3 star rating due to India workers reviewing the job. Of course they are happy, they are replacing everyone in the states. Definately not a good place for a career long term.just

    Advice to Management

Realize value of a good employee vs throwing years of talent away to global services. Great managers with long tenure are walking out.

I have been working at Fiserv (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It’s a job – there are some good people working in IT.

    Cons

This is a finical services fortune 500 company – yet the customer services access point is run on XenApp 6.0 – which is 1 year past vendor support. Middle management – is the primary component that has blocked the upgrade to 3 different versions of XenApp. When middle management isn’t blocking the upgrade process, development is. The various client versions of software that are sold at Fiserv – are developed for desktop use only. (Single user not multi user environment) In my 4-year tenure they are still developing the software for desktop use.

    Advice to Management

None – they are doomed. In my 4-year tenure, the expected tenure of system administrators, infrastructure and application, is 24 months. They hire inexperienced people; they do not train them for the tasks that they will perform – they focus on change management without providing a knowledge base to build from. They hire and promote from the inner circle of middle management – who escape accountability. You get to provide and pay for your own training and you by any office equipment outside of a laptop keyboard and mouse, unless your one of the 5/6 middle managers who have all of these things provided. Even my collages outside of Fiserv think that I am making this up, and it sounds impossible, but it’s shockingly true…

I worked at Fiserv full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company benefits were really good and so was the ability to travel for the company.

    Cons

Horrible management for the Precision business unit. You are expected to perform with absolutely no training. The management is only in their position due to their tenure with the company, not because they can manage people. Suggestions for new ideas are often presented and then turned down because "That's the way they've always done it". The technology that is being used is way to outdated. Being a technology company, Precision is based on old school black screens

    Advice to Management

Take the advice from employees. More will continue to quit if you don't adapt to today's trends. Also, one of our managers is in a conflict of interest dating an employee that is at her level.

    Pros

The people are willing to work with each other and genuinely eager to do the best for the customer and each other.

    Cons

The company is so compartmentalized that it can be near-impossible for projects to go forward. Compensation is behind the area average and there has been a dramatic drain of talent to other companies in the area. Leadership seems more focused on putting cosmetic changes in place than a genuine review of why jobs go unfilled for months.

    Pros

Travel Benefits/Perks, For The Most Part - Enjoyable/Interesting Work, Opportunities To Work From Home On An "As Needed" Basis

    Cons

LIttle/No Training, Stressful Environment, Low Morale throughout the company

    Advice to Management

Need to invest in employees - meaning formal training, workshops, and competitive compensation with the software market. Additionally, need to staff departments and teams effectively - too many departments are short staffed, leading to heavy work loads and low morale.

I have been working at Fiserv full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Stability, good employees, good place for employees with families.

    Cons

Raises are few and far between. Willing to let other companies steal good employees rather than pay just a little more. Management tends to take advantage, but what job doesn't have this.

    Advice to Management

It takes a long time to learn any position at Fiserv, don't be so willing to let good employees jump ship for a little amount of money.
