      Excellent Support

      Pros

Previously First Data Government Solutions dealt specifically with government sector contracts but now under Fiserv. Opportunities have extended worldwide.

      Cons

Travel is necessary for contracts that out of state (if contractually obligated). This has changed for now due to COVID - 19.

FirstData Merger is gutting the awesome culture

Sep 17, 2019 - Senior Recruiter in Alpharetta, GA

      Pros

Positive environment; talented people; supportive colleagues; flexibility and work/life balance; plenty of opportunity for self-development (but you have to take the initiative). Strong work environment for people who are good at setting boundaries.

      Cons

Weak work environment for people who have a tough time setting boundaries or are inclined to say yes to too much work. We were told we were going to keep our awesome culture after acquiring First Data but that doesn't seem to be happening. Morale is declining because of the complete lack of communication between top leadership and front line operations.

      Things are good right now...

      Pros

As things stand right now, there is a lot of opportunity within Fiserv both for lateral and upward mobility. The associate community is diverse, knowledgeable, and full of great people.

      Cons

With the addition of First Data and the changes in leadership at the top, there is some concern amongst legacy Fiserv associates about changes in workplace flexibility and the overall culture. It would be a shame to move from a flexible quality-of-life-focused approach to more of a big-brother-it-watching vibe.

      Heading The Wrong Way Fast

Nov 13, 2021 - Senior Client Service Partner in Frisco, TX

      Pros

Good Benefits, although some of them are starting to dwindle, i.e. less of a discount for Stock Purchase Program.

      Cons

Now that First Data leadership has taken over, the culture has taken a turn for the worse. They are now forcing people to come into the office, relocate, or be let go. It is my opinion they are using the vaccine mandate as part of this plan as well. At the very least, they quickly changed course on their stance on the vaccine and caught everyone by surprise, not in a good way. The once great culture of this company has taken a turn for the worse. Morale is low, and the employees no longer trust executive leadership. I would not recommend to work at Fiserv, as long as Frank B. and his regime are at the helm.

'The Great Exodus' is upon us

      Pros

A stagnant job is still a job, a mediocre paycheck is still a paycheck, surface-level work experience is still resume work experience.

      Cons

If you thought COVID would've changed the landscape of how this company views working from home, you are sorely mistaken, 'The Great Return' is here and everyone who is vaccinated MUST return to the office. Senior management believes if you are not in the office, you are not working, despite constantly saying how productive the company functioned while working from home for the last year and a half. It's no secret this major work culture shift occurred all after this First Data 'acquisition' and you know who are the players all behind this. It's only a matter of time until Fiserv brings back the initiative to force remote employees to relocate to an office location or leave. The language they are using to push 'The Great Return' to the office is almost identical to the language they were using for the other initiative moments before the pandemic thwarted their plans. Why would you want to stay with a company that learned nothing from a pandemic? They will instead have the HR puppets tell the vaccinated associates that employees from Walmart didn't have a choice to work from home during the pandemic so it's time that we as a company returned to the office...what. The last time I checked, I paid for higher education so I don't get compared to a Walmart employee. Before all of this, I honestly thought Fiserv was fine, it was a decent springboard for a better job but it was still comfortable for the time being. There is plenty to nitpick at any job: organization, communication, benefits, management, etc, but this is where they've officially crossed the line. I look forward to spending all of my future time in the office updating my resume and applying for a new job at a company that actually respects its employees.

      Pros

Competitive pay, decent benefits, it is a job.

      Cons

Complete lack of empowerment. Fiserv is currently the old Fiserv and it most recent acquisition Fisrt Data. While Fiserv bought First Data, the poor upper management of First Data came out on top. Frank, the CEO is now all about having everyone back in the office even with Covid surging. Spyware (sapience) logging every keystroke on your company issued laptop and too many levels of management to ever get anything done. Re-orgs occur in IT about once a year and never actually fix anything. Some VPs are clueless, some fashion themselves as some type of motivational gurus when they are really just narcissistic. There are bright spots in the form of good managers who care about their people, but those are rapidly departing the company for better jobs. Even when people leave, there is no backfill. The unofficial mantra is do more with less [people].
