I worked at Fisher & Paykel Appliances full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People you work with are great that are not in Senior Management or HR.

    Cons

    Senior Management and HR.

    Advice to Management

The HQ overseas should perform a due diligence as Senior Management and HR are horrific.

I have been working at Fisher & Paykel Appliances full-time

    Pros

A lot of great passionate people to work with, fun company to work for, great products, hiring more outsiders to bring in external experiences/knowledge and huge growth potential.

    Cons

A lot of under-performing tenured employees that we have outgrown, like most companies poor communication from the top down, and lacks focus.

    Advice to Management

Focus in key areas, better communication, more visibility to the vision and strategies.

I have been working at Fisher & Paykel Appliances full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Free drinks during work hours

    Cons

Cannot even begin to describe the depth of management incompetence

    Advice to Management

Start by making products that work, then get rid of all the NZ droids and hire competent managers.

I have been working at Fisher & Paykel Appliances full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love all of the perks that the company gives...10 holidays, 3 weeks PTO, free food all the time. I just started in 2015 and this company treats everyone very well. Most people have worked here for a long time.

    Cons

The company is growing really fast and could communicate better when new people start. Also, continue to ask for input on changes.

    Advice to Management

Continue to ask employees how to best do things in their market. Ensure that NZ and US are collaborating.

    Pros

none to speak of except free van and gas. The important stuff is down in the cons section.

    Cons

Very inhumane place to work in, people walking around in the office like robots and no one says hi to anyone. Alcoholics with fridges full of beer they offer you alcohol without considering the consequences. They micromanage the heck out of the service dept. no wonder 2 managers and 2 techs quit in the time I was there. You will have no voice or opinion and if you do speak, they will shut you down. They take take take and give nothing back, their so called reviews are given 6 months late without retro pay and thats if they're given because one manager runs like a chicken with his head cut off running 3 different titles because they can't keep good managers. As soon as they see you have incentive and ask for improvements and changes they shut you out until you quit or get fired. You will have to buy your own tools, even specialty tools. Don't try asking for booties, safety gloves, safety goggles or back brace because they will consider you a troublemaker. Good luck asking for replacement uniforms. Get used to hearing there is no budget. I have never seen such disorganization in one company. They are micromanaging it to the ground. Customers will tell you how pissed they are at the products you are supposed to provide service for making you feel stupid and you will learn to hate the crappy cheapy appliances they buy and make. You will wish you stayed away from this place that wreaks of arrogance, ego and prepotence. You have been warned.

    Advice to Management

treat people like you want to be treated and don't treat them like machines and like they owe you something.
