I have been working at Five Brothers full-time

    Pros

My experience has been very positive. It is a very challenging job with strict deadlines. Management understands the challenges and works to assist with a positive outcome for both the employees and our clients. The Five Brothers family is dedicated to making a good/positive experience for the employees and clients alike. The challenges faced everyday in a difficult industry only make the successes sweeter.

    Cons

Every industry has it’s challenges, and historical all time lows is the number 1 challenge right now.

    Advice to Management

Please continue to support your staff and help them to be successful.

I worked at Five Brothers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is a family run company and really tries and works with employees. They want employees to enjoy their job and have fun at work. (Even though it’s tough with some of the management in place)

    Cons

There are communication issues between departments. Every employee seems to have a different take on how to complete certain tasks and what the end outcome should. There is a major inconsistency even between individuals in the same department. Departments tend to argue why they are correct and the other department is incorrect.

    Advice to Management

Continue to strive to be open with all employees. Send procedure changes for one department as an FYI to all employees as these changes many times effect another area without anyone having knowledge that it will. Conveyance and neglect, and appeals should be included with all property manager information for sure, as their jobs depend on how the results are completed by property managers. Listen to what these departments have to say as they are the two departments that deal with errors, and possible losses to Five Brothers on a daily basis. Don’t always go to no charge a contractor as a way to stop a loss. This should be trained across the board, as each no charge order is a loss to FB. Creating the NC doc, order, processing results, obtaining additional information, reviewing disputes, etc. many times ends up being a larger loss than just paying to have a contractor go complete the work for the bid amount when it is something small.

I worked at Five Brothers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The health insurance was the best I've ever seen. Was! Everyone was made to feel important. In the end you were made to feel like a poor red headed step child.

    Cons

I have never worked for such a dishonest company. Upper management constantly looked for ways to throw other managers under the bus. The CEO liked the fighting and could be very unprofessional with his language.

    Advice to Management

I would not be surprised to find your company being investigated under a Whistler Blower suit. Get rid of the toxic waste you have as managers and that includes family members.

I have been working at Five Brothers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    PTO & Holiday Pay
    Co-workers that have become friends
Many departments to learn different aspects of property preservation from

    Cons

Industry changes are a constant dark cloud overhead
Most truly loyal employees are no longer there
    Inconsistent internal communication
Compensation levels are also inconsistent and do not match merit

    Advice to Management

If you want each member of the company to be invested in the same goal, each voice should have the chance to be heard and validated. It's hard to maintain positive about an employee appreciation week and the activities involved when just weeks prior, most of those employees were advised they were not receiving a salary increase despite all of the additional responsibilities each team has taken on while slowly losing employees during that time.

I worked at Five Brothers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Coworkers. Made a lot of long lasting friendships. Received a holiday bonus in 2017 - see positive reviews post December 1st 2017. (requested by the company)

    Cons

The only time you are addressed is when something is wrong. Company is looking for employees to make errors, mistakes - so they are able to continue to downsize. Wouldn’t be surprised if the company is sold soon.

    Advice to Management

Talk and listen to what the front line staff has to say. They are they assets at Five Brothers. There are a lot of great employees that Five Brothers terminated. Employees that looked out for the company. Had the true interest of Joe and Nickie at heart. Take a good look at who remains. Would you trust them with your company? If not. Why are they still there?
