I have been working at Fivetran full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Culture is incredible and management is intentional about this, if you are looking for a job where you can actually hang out with co-workers doing fun stuff (axe throwing, company trip to a dude ranch, Nuggets game) this is a great place! The job itself is challenging, you can't get bored here and there are always new projects you can take on. Pay is very good for a startup including the benefits. 401k matching, HSA (decent contribution from company), company trips (Baja, Colorado), etc.

    Cons

With this being a startup, some processes aren't in place so miscommunication from management happens and causing confusion. Something that management is working to fix!

I have been working at Fivetran full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great people, lots of mentorship, extremely fun annual trips with the company, flexible work schedule, great time-off policy, lots of interesting engineering problems

    Cons

It's a little noisy outside the Oakland office. That's about it.

I have been working at Fivetran full-time

    Pros

Flat hierarchical structure at Fivetran. Everyone is open to innovative ideas, and treat the ideas by their own merit alone. This is the nature of a small, and fast growing team. Plenty of demand, and inbound business to sell to.

    Cons

Training could've used some work. If you're great at learning yourself, you'll be fine. Management has taken this advice, and has implemented a much more structured training program.

    I worked at Fivetran full-time

    Pros

    - company culture was fantastic. great people running the company and great people within the company. I could have a voice and be heard, along with collaborating with smart, fun, intelligence people. - growth. scaling fairly quickly and making noise in the ETL/ELT environment. it's awesome when your clients tell you how great your product is. - resources. lots of smart people, who are willing to help with deeper learning of the product and marketplace. - great partners. the partners in the eco-system are great, which makes selling easier and more fun.

    Cons

    - I was based in the SF Bay Area and the sales and marketing division moved to Denver. The commute was somewhat tough traveling to Oakland, especially after commuting to San Francisco for years. Although, the office, the views, the food, and the warmth of Oakland is great! It just didn't make sense for me.

I have been working at Fivetran full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - The team is fantastic. Everyone is smart, self motivated, and works well together - The product is best in class and easy to get behind from sales to support to engineering - Total flexibility: work from home, unlimited vacation, as long as you are contributing there is no micromanagement from the team. It is up to you to manage yourself and contribute - The team has really taken shape in the past 3 months to really make the next 6-12 months incredible (product, sales, partnerships, expansion, etc.) - This is a fantastic place to work: we are growing like crazy and we need good people to come in and work on some really interesting things. Adding the core team is going to bring the company to the next level - Fantastic benefits, HSA account, team lunches and dinners (when we remember to plan them), team trips (ski trip to Whistler last winter).

    Cons

    - Tons of work and sometimes not enough hours in the day to get everything done. You have to be organized and be able to prioritize your tasks. - Structure is limited but the team is working on putting effective processes in place.

I have been working at Fivetran full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I joined Fivetran because the founders are great people with strong ethics. They've brought together a team of wonderful folks that are responsible, accountable and calm. Everyone works hard and work/life is balance are encouraged - the founders leading by example.

    Cons

Fivetran is a startup with all the usual trade-offs that come with that stage in a company's life.

I worked at Fivetran full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fivetran is one of the rare startups that actually does something of worth; data integration is one business function that is as difficult to reliably build/maintain as it is valuable. Which is to say: very hard, and very valuable. Fortunately, they have an incredibly smart founding team that does an excellent job of keeping the bar high for new hires that they bring on in order to maintain the quality of the company. Biggest Pros: - Amazing team. It's often said that the culture of the company is, to a large extent, a reflection of the founders - which in this case is a great thing. The founding team members have known each other for several years before the company started, and the two co-founders' families have been friends with one another for generations. As a result, the atmosphere is one of diligent work, open communication, and thoughtful intention. - Lots of Opportunity: As of now, they're still pretty small (10-15 people) so plenty of opportunities to take initiative both inside and outside of your role should you choose to do so. This is true for many small startups, but what's unique is the support and encouragement you receive, so the potential for personal/professional growth is fantastic. - Really interesting product. Before joining, I knew next to nothing about cloud software, business intelligence tools, data analytics, and how it all fits together. Within a few months after joining, I felt like I had a much better grasp of how the tech world works (APIs!) and exactly how powerful a comprehensive & centralized pool of data can be when making decisions for your business. Beyond that, there's almost a limitless product roadmap - there are so many potential data sources (SaaS tools, databases, webhooks, files) that the product offering will only continue to expand, broadening its applicability to other new prospects and increasing its value to existing customers.

    Cons

No real cons to speak of. Like any/every startup, there's a lot of "duct tape" and not everyone has experience in everything they need or want to do, but any lack of experience is more than made up for with earnest dedication, open communication, eagerness for feedback, and plenty of encouragement.
