I have been working at Flagler College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The staff in the library are amazing. They're sweet, resourceful, care about their job and the students who come in needing help-- and they also care about the work study students who're working there. I couldn't ask for a better work environment or imagine one. I love working at the library.

    Cons

During finals week the library can get pretty loud and busy with students studying and rushing around to finish papers, but it's not too much of a hassle.

I worked at Flagler College part-time

    Pros

Close to campus, great way to meet faculty and staff

    Cons

Unfriendly staff, no expectations to work hard, complacent staff.

    Advice to Management

Hire staff that has been trained to work with students and require them to hit benchmarks and go up for quarterly review.

I worked at Flagler College full-time

    Pros

You get to work with some of the friendliest people you'll encounter throughout your career.

    Cons

Not the most forward thinking place, limited by a county mentality when the College could do a lot more on a more significant level.

    Advice to Management

The slow and steady pace of growth has worked wonders. Keep doing what you're doing.

I have been working at Flagler College full-time

    Pros

Beautiful location, relate able young staff, small community environment which is good for faculty, staff, and students

    Cons

No tuition reimbursement for employees wanting to further their education, pay is lower than normal, but is expected because of the nature of tuition

    Advice to Management

Doing a pretty good job, should listen to more than older faculty members and board of trustees. The people on the ground know the most about the daily workings of the school

I have been working at Flagler College part-time

    Pros

Great place to work as an adjunct. The kids are friendly and the staff is outstanding. I eat in the dining hall several times each week and meet new professors regularly.

    Cons

Not much is done for adjuncts to make them feel welcome. We have to be assertive to get to know people.

    Advice to Management

Help you adjuncts feel more integrated into the college. Some of us do that on our own, but not everyone will.
