    Pros

Great community and environment, had to do no work outside of 5 pm

I worked at Flagstar Bank full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Bank backed mortgage co so you have that flexibility and security prior to buy out most of managers knew what they were doing. Pay was for sure best in industry.

    Cons

After buy out no one listened in management. Lots of internal conflict between departments. Managers had the crows nest view point. Everything looked good from above to them buy we were dying outside on the sand of the islands. They didn't really care. Tech is also way clumsy and out of date where as it used to be best in class

    Pros

I worked here for a few years as a full-time employee. The company has changed hands a few times. Heard good things after I left but over all a so so place to work.

    Cons

I did not have a lot of growth from a career perspective. Used to work with old technologies and all open source stuff

    Advice to Management

Please bring back the increments and issue bonuses to performers

    Pros

Great hardworking people, decent benefits and PTO

    Cons

Many people vying for the moving up the ladder positions so it can tend to get cut throat. Salary increases tend to be very small. HR tends to err more on the belief side of the employees not Management which can make you very afraid to stand your ground

I worked at Flagstar Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flagstar Bank is a wonderfully community driven bank and was fantastic to work for as an organization. Flagstar offers great opportunity for advancement and training.

    Cons

A lot of the business is cut throat and you are competing with everyone, at all times. It is in fact a very stressful environment and sometimes you have no idea who your allies are, including upper management.

    Advice to Management

Management should never discuss private employee matters with the rest of the entire staff. This was discussed at the exit interview.

    Pros

Good working environment, decent support from management for lower level employees.

    Cons

Cut part time hours to a maximum of 18 hours per week. No part time benefits, full time benefits aren't great either. Branch systems very out of date.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your employees.

Beginning too listen to an show interest in retaining employees. This has been a long time coming but some stability is taking shape. The direction of the bank is stabilizing and management is beginning to resemble leadership

    Cons

too many fiefdoms. It is a fragmented sea of small minded middle managers hanging on for dear life.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving in the direction you are headed
