I have been working at Flagstar Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I work for IT and used to love my job. I was engaged. I honestly looked forward to getting in early each day to get things done. I was absolutely loyal to my job and my immediate leadership.

    Cons

I don't have that enthusiasm anymore. It was taken away by a paranoid, incompetent and meddlesome narcissistic management team who are more concerned with kissing business butt, their own advancement, and outsourcing jobs than putting out a good reliable product.

    Advice to Management

Your IT department is in disarray, Sandro, and it is costing you $$ and talent. You need to get a handle on it or things will only get worse.

    Pros

Pay for performance, Recognition & Benefits are awesome. It can be difficult at times to reach the goals set simply due to brand recognition being low in our market but marketing is doing a great job of working to improve that and there is a lot of concentration on getting the Flagstar name out.

    Cons

401k Match is lower than most others that I am aware of but they have increased it and are always looking to improve.

I have been working at Flagstar Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Outstanding culture. Flagstar has fostered a unique balance of accountability with entrepreneurialism. The bonus compensation is reasonable at all levels. From the CEO on down this company in connected.

    Cons

The business bank needs major investment. The online banking platform is not competitive and the process for submitting loans is undesirable. The goals are out of reach at times resulting in stress and in rare cases apathy.

    Advice to Management

It would be wise to invest in the business bank before pushing managers to offer their services. Updated marketing material, new business online banking, and a streamlined business loan application process would go a long way to lift the hesitation likely observed company wide at present.

I worked at Flagstar Bank (More than a year)

    Pros

Independent and self directed schedule within a general office schedule. Management was open to new ideas. Lots of marketing materials available.

    Cons

Offices were not private and customer did not feel their finances were privately heard. No existing customer base as the bank was new to Georgia. Very difficult to get business noticed.

    Advice to Management

This company was bought out by PNC bank which also bought several other existing area banks that had established customer base.

    Pros

I absolutely love working for Flagstar. My co-workers are fantastic, helpful, and friendly. There is a real family feel in our mortgage team and I look forward to going in to the office every day.

    Cons

My only complaint is the PTO plan is a little less than I had hoped. However, I am happy to trade that off for a great work environment.

I worked at Flagstar Bank full-time

    Pros

    Very entrepreneurial energy,
You got back in respect and income what you put into it.
Most of the managers know what they are doing and are there to support.

    Cons

Many of the senior managers forget what its like to be on the road and make internal decisions that are just not feasible.
Just like any sales AE job - they ask for report after report after report and then ask you why you're not making outside sales calls to your clients. Well there are only so many hours in a day. :)
