I worked at FleetMatics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity for monthly bonuses, easy to know what is expected of you for daily, weekly and monthly work.

    Cons

When work is done, there is lots of down time which makes it much harder to qualify for the monthly bonuses. Communication was mostly done over skype chat, even if it was between a supervisor/employee that was in the same cubicle or over the cubicle wall.

    Advice to Management

please communicate IRL! Skype and e-mail are not meant for every single interaction.

I have been working at FleetMatics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have been with Fleetmatics for 3 years and it is the best Job I have ever had. This is a career with tremendous growth and opportunity. I made 90k last year and this year I plan on making 120k.

    Cons

I would say that a con is that Fleetmatics highers a lot of reps that they shouldn't. This Job is for hunters who want to work very hard to make money. If you aren't a true sales person this job isn't for you. If you just want to sit back and collect 35k per year this isn't for you. This career is for people who want to seize and opportunity to make lots of money and work very hard.

    Advice to Management

Stop higher anyone who comes through the door. There are people here who are taking up space and sitting back collecting 35K per year and happy to do so. We have a limited amount of leads and the more unqualified highers that come in adds to our head count and raises our target. The problem is our target is being raised but we aren't hiring enough quality reps to justify the target increase - That's my 2 cents.

    Pros

Truly uncapped comissions, great culture, good base salary with a lot of room for growth. Awesome benefits and 401k program.

    Cons

This is a very technical job, computer skills are a must. Some of the employees aren't that equipped for the fast paced environment.

    Advice to Management

Keep developing the positive culture that you've started

I worked at FleetMatics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Caring and engaged management, good company culture and camaraderie

    Cons

Nowhere near enough reps to handle the amount of calls and issues. We would constantly take back-to-back calls, and I and a number of others who cared enough about what they did would routinely stay late to keep all cases (regularly 60+) updated and moving forward.

    Advice to Management

I hope you've hired more people for this position since I left, because we couldn't keep up with the growth and reps simply got burned out from the seeming futility of trying to manage your case load.

    Pros

The Money. See also: MooLa. Benjamins. Greenbacks. Cashola. Wad. Doh Ray Me, Bucks, Clams, Bank, Cake, Dinero, Cheese. Bones, Bread, Sheckels, Loot, Coin and Payola.

    Cons

If you're a sales guy (dude) with no college degree this place is for you if the used car lot isn't hiring. Everyone else run for the hills. This is one of the worst corporate cultures out there. The sane and nice HR team try their best to put a good face on this oozing culture pustule, but it's a grease stain that just can't be painted over. It always shows through. Run while you still have time.

The dream is always the same: I'm sitting in the back of a bus careening out of control at 110 mph through the inner city while everyone is holding on for dear life screaming. I get up and make my way to the front of the bus... I find Daffy Duck at the wheel giggling with half a liter of Jack left. Then I wake up sweating. Time for work! ..Oh, and Verizon isn't going to improve this culture one bit.

    Pros

There are some good people at this company unfortunately management is not one of them. Watch out if you get your foot in the door.

    Cons

Management especially the Finance department like to make false promises to their employees and keep them in the dark. Be weary of what they say at all times.
