I worked at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great teamwork
    Professional but not overly restrictive/stuffy
Great pay for a non-serving position

    Cons

    Physical and stressful work
You have to be able to multitask and get a little crazy when the hits come, so it's genuinely not for everyone.

I have been working at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent tips, flexible scheduling for students, no very late nights, 50% off food, opportunities for growth, good regulars that dine in

    Cons

Managers that bully employees and embarrass them in front of others, harassment is not taken seriously, overstaffing and everyone works every holiday. The staff is not cared about and it's made very obvious by how Management treats and staffs them. Very high turnover with management. OP hires her friends instead of hiring those who would be good managers.

    Advice to Management

Stop overstaffing on holidays and in general. Rotate holidays so everyone doesn't have to work every single one. Give us a chance to make money. Management also needs to stop gossiping about employees to other employees and stop being schoolyard bullies. Listen to your employees concerns and understand we are there to make money.

I worked at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great money in just a few hours, the crew was excellent! It was hard to walk away from that place but I had to move on.

    Cons

Sunday's brunch was a terrible idea, like in any restaurant, weekends and holidays are mandatory and now open in thanksgiving too

    Advice to Management

Eliminate Sunday brunch, it is not working!

    Pros

Benifets of a corporate restaurant with the care and hospitality from your managersystem and even higher.

    Cons

Can take some time to get approval for specific liquors and wine that would be popular requests at your location.

    Pros

The money was really good when it was a good day. And the employees became my close friends.

    Cons

The money is not consistent and neither is the amount of business. Also, the newest manager is terrible.

    Advice to Management

Having a manager talk down to employees and make inappropriate comments to guests is just wrong.

I worked at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people for the most part, pretty good money, and the hours were decent since they were only open for dinner unless there was a private event.

    Cons

Schizophrenic sales promotions and strategies pushed down from corporate. Wants to play with the big boys such as Ruth Chris but promotions were done to drive sales to attract/convert high end customers but at very low margins. Additionally, promotions such as extending happy hour hours and offering late night discount menu did nothing to attract desired clientele either.

    Advice to Management

Pick a strategy and stick to it. Fleming's is a higher end steakhouse but is not on the level of a Ruth Chris so stop trying to be. Stop communicating that you're working toward one goal but then create initiatives that contradict everything you say you're trying to do.

I worked at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good food, had pride in what we were selling. Decent training in service etiquette. It was nice to be served "Family Meal" everyday.

    Cons

Little to no validation on jobs well done. Extremely difficult to grow, management kept promising growth that was never fulfilled. Operating partner belittled instead of encouraged, was also extremely narcissistic. No action taken when I was often verbally harassed by a coworker.

    Advice to Management

Validation and encouragement will go a long way. No hand holding, just basics. Don't string employees along with unconfirmed promises. Be more open to offer raises according to work ethic and seniority. Take verbal and sexual harassment seriously! When an employee is in trouble, action needs to be taken.
