I worked at Fletcher Jones (More than a year)

    Pros

401k available after one year. Paid training.

    Cons

LOW pay for HIGH expectations! Technicians beware it's more like a roller coaster casino, expecting a big win that never happens, you're expected to live by the flat rate but more often you die by the flat rate in there. You'll nearly pass out from heat exhaustion all summer and then later be criticized for poor productivity by clueless manager sitting in his icy cool office. Too many cars carelessly jammed onto the roof, taking test drives is risky! 10,000 pigeons defecate on all the cars. High turnover, misery cheap customers. I hope it's changed for the better since '13. Good luck trying to schedule vacation days.

    Advice to Management

If your management style creates a high stress environment combined with low pay that is not commensurate for the difficult work, then expect persistent failure and be sure to blame it all on everyone else except yourself.

I worked at Fletcher Jones full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

All of my co-workers were hard working. Coffee machine is the best in my career.

    Cons

No recognition or incentives for employees who sweat and work hard daily. Empty promises made to persuade employees to take on new tasks. Drama every day, and management is slick as a fox- he will say whatever he needs to say to keep you pacified. He actually does not care about you or your issue, and sees everyone as dime-a-dozen.

    Advice to Management

Stop comparing every employee to the person who was in that position before them- that person left for a reason. Pay your employees like they work at a dealership instead of Wal-Mart. Get your vendors to do thier jobs instead of making your employees manage them. Don't prey on high schoolers and entry level workers who can't see through your games. Don't think when one thing goes wrong that the whole team is bad.

    Advice to Management

Continue what you're doing by listening to employees suggestions and challenges.

I worked at Fletcher Jones (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great support from coworkers and manager. Always there to answer any questions and help you when it comes to anything difficult.

    Cons

Put under pressure most of the time. Must be able to handle a lot of communication between dealership to dealership and most of the time the people to speak with that work in the other Fletcher Jones dealerships aren't the easiest to talk with.

    Advice to Management

Spend more one on one time with employees and listen to what some of their daily challenges are.

    Your company is pathetic

I worked at Fletcher Jones (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great, world class product.
Beautiful Autohaus showroom environment for employees and guests.
    Hard working, ethical employees overall.
Some very loyal, passionate, respectful customers.

    Cons

Management is always changing and lack focus in how to run a luxury dealership profitably.
Product is more expensive than leading competitors.
Geographic area and dealer location are not conducive to selling luxury cars valued at over $45,000.
For the entire sales, service, and parts staff the store just does not pay more than $15 an hour for 90% of the employees.

    Advice to Management

Value quality over quantity. Do not set employees up for failure. Make sure more employees from top to bottom can afford to put bread on their table. Maintain a level of rapport not just with customers but with employees. Have sales managers with some prior management experience on their belt. Learn from local competitors on how to run a luxury dealership profitably.

    Pros

Have been with the company for over 4 years. Started out as a reception and got promoted. Lots of room to grow. Management is great. Coworkers are easy to get along with.

    Cons

Sometimes you have a bad month but that's sales.

I have been working at Fletcher Jones full-time

    Pros

Great people, great management, flexible work hours, feeling like part of the "family," ability to make your job what you want it to be.

    Cons

One year waiting period for PTO, small PTO bank.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. I appreciate that you truly listen to what your employees have to say and I know that you are working hard to take care of issues that have been raised. To me, it is clear how much you care for your guests and staff and I feel lucky to work here. This is truly one of the best jobs I've had!

    Pros

    Decent Pay and brainless work.

    Cons

Shuttle to work everyday and literally everything else about working here. You will be working for morons. This company has transitioned into a corporation. The "family owned dealership" nonsense they pitch you is bogus. They don't reward performance. All they care about is keeping you in your position to make them money. No room for advancement and the benefits are a joke!
