    Pros

decent pay, free snacks, and variety of machinery. Company wide policies and goals seem reasonable and most of the people were hard working and safety focused.

    Cons

Large egos, unmet promises and a complete disregard for company policies about masks. The small group was disorganized and mismanaged, causing considerable turnover.

A decent company - not too good not too bad

Jul 4, 2008 - Senior Software Engineer in Santa Clara, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The Opportunity it provides for people in the H/W area in contract manufacturing. decent employers. Can work for life until retirement if people chose that way. Extra career oppurtunities for people who wanted to switch over to other cities/countries and if flextronics existed in that country/city. In my view this a key part

    Cons

The working hours are Long . Not much focus on Software . Sold of the Software business part to Aricent. The employee morale is not so great especially in the software line of Business.

    Middle management

Aug 31, 2018 - Middle Management in San Jose, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Many of my peers and employees were smart people, very hardworking. Plenty of opportunities to learn, especially if you are a self starter. I had a couple happy years there hence the 2 stars, when I was working for a great boss. Some of the factories are absolutely world class. Office in San Jose is nice, spacious, light and has a nice cafe. I liked working with so many different people in different countries. Pay is ok until you really consider how many hours you are working.

    Cons

Hours of endless calls at night with teams in Asia, and endless travel to Asia all in economy class. 12-16 hours days are the norm as is waking up to 200 emails. Org shuffle that occurred in Feb was purely political and many of the right people got let go or reshuffled. Very few senior women at the company, they have all left or been let go. This is a true boys club. I left before the stress gave me a stoke and I’m so happy I did. I didn’t realize how miserable this place really was until I left and now have my evenings back. New management wants everyone in the office from 9-5, regardless of the fact you have been on the phone the night before till 1am, and have calls that start at 6am. Ems is a grind, but this place is the worst. If you can work here, you can work anywhere. In a weird way I’m happy for the time I spent here because it’s made me appreciate my new job so much.

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Annual reviews that increases your salary, good benefits (life insurance and others). Working at Flextronics is the best way to get experience and learn many things.

    Cons

    - The salary increases are for the people that is friend of someone of the top of the organization. - It is difficult to get that your boss can promote you. - Sometime the plant managers are people that is very protected and they can do whathever they want. - The values and the reality are not the same.

Device Support Center - RTS - Comments are strictly for RTS division not Flex as a whole

Mar 13, 2017 - Senior Leadership in Los Angeles, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Great people throughout the RTS organization that knew their job and did it well Ability to manage your own time Not micro-managed from the RTS side Freedom to develop employees as you saw fit Excellent RTS support team

    Cons

Not so great people throughout the RTS organization that didn't know their job and did it poorly Micro-managed from the client side and held to increasingly stringent KPI with little to no pushback from the RTS leader Lack of structured employee development programs Constant fire drills for issues that weren't real issues Very weak leadership, which quite possibly led to the entire account being closed and hundreds of people laid off Total lack of senior leadership visibility in the field Poor budgets

    Pros

Access to new technologies, professional capable people, good working environment.
