I have been working at FlexTrade Systems Inc. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Learning a lot of business knowledge
    - Will improve your working skills
    - High stress and slightly hostile work environment will make you tough.

    Cons

    - Absolutely cheap when it comes to anything, including server space and forget about bonus and salary.
    - Every team is understaffed, and save money by delaying hiring and then forgetting about hiring.
    - You'll be exploited and 'extracted'.
    - Unhappy employees make life frustrating to everyone without their knowledge.
    - Very few good people who like to work.

    Advice to Management

I'm writing this in the best interest of the company.
    - Stop writing fake reviews on Glassdoor. Not only unethical, but also people will feel betrayed when they join the company.
    - Invest in training Managers and Team leaders. Project management, Prioritizing, communication are required skills for everyone.
    - Don't just give power because someone is senior. I have seen few senior people who seem to be frustrated all the time because they expect a cake walk, but cannot handle surprises and challenges of Flextrade.

I have been working at FlexTrade Systems Inc. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As I see more and more new faces at FlexTrade, I continue to feel confident about the direction of the company. These new faces are mostly new additions to staff and not replacements for employees who have moved on. It gives me a sense that WE are on the right trajectory and continuing to grow. It makes it easy to have confidence in the days/weeks/months/years ahead.

    Cons

Most of my previous concerns are gone.

    Pros

Work from home is available sometimes. Other than that, it's hard to think of Pros.

    Cons

The atmosphere inside is gloomy. People are miserable at all times. It would be pointed out if you "laugh too much" or "talk too much". It's true. It has happened to me and to others in front of me.

    Pros

Good place to gain domain experience.

    Cons

Won't learn much in the field of software engineering or development. Work is done to 'get it working' rather than doing it correctly.

I have been working at FlexTrade Systems Inc. (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pizza on a Friday. Not as intense as Wall St if you are looking for semi retirement. Generally a nice place to work.

    Cons

Some of the people are unbearable to work with. Compensation is very tight. Over worked and under compensated. One person there for every 2 jobs.

    Advice to Management

    Value employees more.

    "Product support"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Great Neck, NY
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Great Neck, NY

I worked at FlexTrade Systems Inc. (More than a year)

    Pros

Product support had a good rapport among themselves. Management preferred a hands-off approach whenever feasible. Easy access to office by train. Decent opportunity to see how market data and program trading work.

    Cons

Certain clients abused the product support service; precise obligations to them were never clear, frequently causing stress among the staff. The software was >99% homespun and everything about it was unconventional. The product support interview was geared toward development, not product support.

    Advice to Management

To promote productivity and longevity among the staff, it's important to see the relationship as a two-way relationship. An approach that's mostly aloof with occasional heavy-handedness works against this.
