I worked at Flextronics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You will learn everything about the EMS business
There are some truly wonderful people there

    Cons

There are many more less than wonderful people - some of this may be a matter of the type of employees who end up in EMS as opposed to OEM and some are good people who are simply under way too much stress from a ridiculous workload, disorganization, low-quality coworkers, and a culture than almost openly encourages hostility and confrontation

    Advice to Management

    Resign

I worked at Flextronics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Love the people that I worked with day to day.
Lots of community involvement projects where employees are encouraged to participate

    Cons

Workload too heavy and as staff is downsized workload increases
Upper Management more invested in "the good ole boys club" than in selecting the best person for the job
Constantly in a downsizing mode and sending jobs offshore where it is cheaper

    Advice to Management

Look at the future. It is not all about saving a dime today. It may cost you millions in the future. Cheaper is not always better

I worked at Flextronics (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some wonderful people to work with. Very diverse group of people.

    Cons

Constant layoffs keep you worried. Projects come in and once a process has been setup, the project moves overseas while the vast majority of employees are let go. The industry is very up and down.

    Advice to Management

Know your people and stop looking at them in terms of numbers.

    Pros

    Some great managers
    Great ethical company

    Cons

Medical, dental, and vision benefits are subpar and costly
This company does not support telecommuting

    Advice to Management

To attract and retain great talent - reconsider how much employees have to pay for medical deductibles and your policy on telecommuting for non-manufacturing workers.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time

    Pros

Annual salary increased if keeping good performance

    Cons

Take a lot of time in keying in and maintaining planview system

    Advice to Management

Engineers are not operators. It is not adequate to use similar system(planview) to control working hrs.
