I worked at Flextronics as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

They gave you the freedom to work with other departments in order to solve issues.

I worked at Flextronics (Less than a year)

    Pros

Diverse, fast paced, enjoyable, friendly environment. The day goes by relatively quick assuming everything is running properly. The company does dinners and other special incentives based upon performance. The management are all hands on and willing to help and help with work most work related concerns.

    Cons

We worked 6 day work weeks, sometimes that interfered with personal business with Sunday being the only day off. Most of the guys in shipping & maintenance think they are an individual company, and will rarely work with valve workers even when requested. Made it very difficult to complete certain tasks.

    Advice to Management

Get shipping, maintenance and valve workers to communicate better as a team for the good of the company.

I worked at Flextronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Enjoyed my coworkers and the facilities were nice, but the location I worked at has since been closed down for lack of profit.

    Cons

management failed to provide incentive for their staff resulting in a high turnover of quality employees. Improved management would improve workflow.

    Advice to Management

Show your employees that you care! Rewards, benefits, or incentive programs will help to diminish the high turnover. Get With It!

Not sure of Flextronics' future business plans for the Charlotte site.

I worked at Flextronics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good to work for a big company with really important clients.

    Cons

It is so big that you pass unnoticed everywhere you walk. They don't even do meetings so the new employees can meet the rest of the management team or even the CEO, to me that is important from a company with good values. In a couple words "too big and you are just one more of the 5k employees, not important".

    Advice to Management

    Involve more with the employees.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of opportunities, decent salaries. Seems like a good launch board.

    Cons

Extremely siloed. Some sites are very well organized, others continually set themselves up for failure.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to what is going on at the site level.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I can't think of any at the moment.

    Cons

Poor Comunication (RTS) and everyone I've been in contact with isn't proactive, they're reactive. It makes it difficult for the front lines to provide the best service when our metrics focus change on the drop of a dime.

    Advice to Management

Ask for input, especially when it pertains to a position you've never held. Not every idea is a good idea.

I have been working at Flextronics as a contractor

    Pros

Straight forward work. Easy to get a handle on tasks and begin to work proficiently and independently. Fairly lax on hours depending on team lead.

    Cons

Not much room for growth (both in job position and in pay). Usually feels like you are working and doing more than you are paid to.

    Pros

Exciting opportunities with a broad spectrum where constantly changing demands are presented.
End to end engagement in the business programs.
    Many mature and experienced employee's

    Cons

Reactive planning at executive levels largely from a leadership team that have stayed the course and learned how to survive in the EM environment.

    Advice to Management

Focus on doing what it takes to keep customers happy with performance enhancements to their business , not based on contractual claims.
