I have been working at Flextronics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A large company with ok benefits but frankly not too much good to say

    Cons

Lets just say that the experience has been disappointing. We cannot make up on mind on what we need or want to do, we do not pay our bills on time which results in credits holds, and Milpitas management tries to bully emplotees and contractors and consistantly blames them for delays that are the direct result of senior management mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Honestly, I doubt like will change as the buddy system is too embedded. The Silicon Valley is not a third world country and we cannot treat our employees and contractors as though is was one.

I worked at Flextronics (More than a year)

    Pros

Nothing about the job was good. I dealt with customer all the time that thought I am the one who broke their phone. However I do know how to deal with irate customers and even got more lines from them.

    Cons

I was spat on, yelled at, hit in the face with a phone and this is all from customers. Thank you for that.

    Advice to Management

How about listening to the workers. Remember that we are on the front line enforcing your rules. When you bypass us it makes us look bad.

    Pros

    Cons

I worked at Flextronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is high, but pay per hour is low for exempt employees.

    Cons

No work life balance at all. The company simply does not care about employees ability to have a personal life.

    Advice to Management

start caring about employees -- Exempt employees work so much unpaid overtime they cannot have full a personal life.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time

    Pros

    Free salad lunch every day!
Can wear nice jeans to work everyday.
    That's IT.

    Cons

Upper leadership is very poor. Promises made but not followed up. No support. Worked 7 months and never once had access to a system to gather data. Was told to get from people in other regions of the world. Numbers were off by 25% and not reportable. No follow up from an executive leadership point of view. Worse company I've ever worked for. ZERO work / life balance - even though they preach about it ... it just doesn't exist.

    Advice to Management

Get leaders who know how to lead and direct - not badger and attempt to intimidate. Po

I worked at Flextronics (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You would have good Job security if you have good relationship with manager or family member of management. You will be constantly moving more than 8 hours a day without being bored.

    Cons

Not much benefits at all; health premium plus family OUT-OF-PACKET MAX of $10,000 or more is obscured. No voluntarily retirement package, but instead forcing you to quit or unhappy with work environment.

    Advice to Management

Management skill is questionable. Have seen manager recommended their friends or relatives for managerial postion. Work un-ethical issue with family menbers in the same department.

I worked at Flextronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work schedule, benfits, paid holidays and vacation. Ability to learn new technology as it changes.

    Cons

Poor leadership, too much politics, upper management clueless on what the front line deals with, not focused on the customer but on metrics, low pay for what you're doing, lots of turnover

    Advice to Management

Listen to your front line and maybe jump in the trenches and work with them at times. All your ideas aren't the best so run it by your employees to make sure it works. Doesn't matter because they won't listen.
