Pros
travel incentives are great when they come around. Everyone is generally really great to work with.
Cons
You have little to no work life balance as you are expected to pretty much be available whenever whereever. Salary is very low for the amount of effort put it.

Awful company culture, but great training and opportunity

If you get a good team you're set. I'm fortunate to work with a great team who nurture and compliment each other. There's endless training - they have that down to a T. Easy to use systems
Cons
The culture as a whole is rubbish. Many stores work life balance is non existent and not very good for people with young families. Drinking is heavily encouraged and you have to work back a lot without overtime and attend compulsory out of office events like buzz nights and conferences. The pay is very low and you are expected to meet high targets which can be difficult with the current competitive market - people have lost their trust in travel agents because of the internet.

Pros
Great team Possibilities for growth (pre covid) Availability for bonuses such as free trips Room for growth (if you can sell) Some of the best and most understanding customers (but also some of the craziest and most price focused)
Cons
Low pay Long hours Over emphasis on commission Unrealistic targets for low walk in stores Work life balance is very limited; customers will call after hours or text when not working or after hours

I worked at Flightcentre for almost a year, I had a great time, it's a super social company with heaps of perks and career progression.
Cons
Money is woeful , Especially for the amount of hours we worked! Hard to find that work/ life balance when we were at the office for sometimes 11 hours a day!

Good first full time job

Good incentives and lovely clients. I was part of a big team which was great, made global and got some great holidays out of it. My TL was really supportive when I dropped to part time and being part time I was still able to pull the same figures. I made global gathering which was amazing
Cons
To make global gathering I had to push myself every month to get the sales which left me drained and poor work life balance. Being part of a big team meant things got lost in translation as well meaning we would have communication issues. I'm leaving as I can't see the job being sustainable for the long run

A great chance to grow in a sales role, selling one of the most exciting things that anybody can dream of really - travel! If you're very motivated individual and can embrace the culture, you'll go very far and can even earn a lot of $$$.
Cons
Work/life balance and being underpaid from the start makes it more of a baptism of fire - hence so much turnover in a company that is trying to remain relevant in the modern world. Is there still a need for a travel agent... the answer - not as often as I would have liked in the end.
