I worked at Florida A&M University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great way to knock out some of the costs associated with paying off grad school. Grading work is not nearly as hard as doing work.

    Cons

If you are unable to see your professor in a while, you will be overwhelmed with over piled work. Best suggestion is to see once a week so assignments only take 20 minutes of your time.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest placing certifications within the program where students working alongside a professor can gain feasible experience that will ready them for the world

I worked at Florida A&M University (More than a year)

    Pros

Allows flexibility for instructors in the classroom.

    Cons

Poorly organized and lacks the resources to provide sufficient support to instructors. Desperately in need of diversity among instructors and staff. Diversity means instructors and staff with experience gained from various types of educational institutions.

    Advice to Management

Invest in support staff who can provide and establish policies and procedures.

I worked at Florida A&M University (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None, other than alumni are really passionate about their school. And that's mostly because everyone is still stuck in the '90s when the university was marginally good and was Time magazine's college of the year.

    Cons

Full of self-involved navel gazers. The adults are more concerned about their own comfort and less so about student success. Faculty think they're at the best school in the nation, but not even ranked on any of the rankings that actually matter. Students are woefully underprepared, with Masters level student not even with the skills to write a decent paper. Trustees are beyond dysfunctional and will eventually be the downfall of the school.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the old faculty and staff; essentially anyone that's been there longer than 10 years and has produced no research or has consistently failing students.
