I worked at Florida Cancer Specialists (More than a year)

    Pros

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED MY JOB! I loved being able to work alone and manage the nucleus, supplies and maintaining the pharmacy. I LOVE the staff and the doctors that I worked with in Brandon, Tampa, Medical Park and Havana offices. Teamwork was always top notch. I also LOVED the patients.

    Cons

The workload can escalate to an almost uncontrollable pace very quickly and last for more than 4-5 hours, where it seems as though you're truly understaffed certain days of the week.

    Advice to Management

Hire part-time and/or prn positions for the days with 45 patients or more. When you have several patients (per hour) who need 4-6 chemo bags made, these are sometimes hard to manage in the IV hood.

    Pros

Very steady company to work for. Excellent benefits and employess are wonderful to work with. Very geographically spread out thru Florida gor many opportunities

    Cons

Space inwhich some employees work in. A better user friendly computer system for all employees to be able to work with. More programs needed to keep emploees moral up whiledoing very syressful daily work.

    Advice to Management

Very possible due to the increasing growth and new opportunities on the horizion. Tiition reimbursement helps employees to further their medical careers.

I worked at Florida Cancer Specialists full-time

    Pros

    Great Staff and Co- workers...

    Cons

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT, they have one pharmacy tech per Cancer Center working in the pharmacy filling more than 50 chemotherapy orders...... The chance of error is huge!!! Plus you are managing a pharmacy not just mixing chemotherapy which make it even worse!!! They are all about money...... They don't appreciate your hard work. Crappy job.

    Advice to Management

Fire your management department, start over , clean the house.

I worked at Florida Cancer Specialists (Less than a year)

    Pros

They verify employment quickly and offer great things. Emphasis on offer.

    Cons

They have a lot of 'clicks' of people who work at their offices. The employees are caddy and unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

If nothing changes, nothing changes. Your reputation by patients should be your focus because many of them are very unsatisfied with their treatment but they are stuck there for reasons they can't control
