I have been working at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Wonderful organization that really cares about patients and is mission focused. Love working with all the departments and teams at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. Refer many people to our hospital.

    Cons

The hospital has grown very fast the last ten years and we are always looking for new staff. We do not have many nursing programs in our area. Most large programs are in Orlando.

    Advice to Management

Continue to stay focused on mission. We need more and faster elevators. Glad to hear we will be getting some soon in 2019.

I have been working at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Training and leadership. Great culture. Great patient care. Nice location and close to the beach. Everyone is really nice and helpful.

    Cons

Not enough beds so the ED is always holding patients. Recently the OCEANSIDE hospital was closed due to the hurricane

    Advice to Management

    Build more beds

I have been working at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Christ centered, clean environment, single patient rooms, new equipment, state of art facility

    Cons

Volusia County- poor pay for RN (starting 24/hr), yearly raise is like 10 cents to 25 cents, no bonus during holiday except for 25 gift card to publix, no time and half for holidays, mandatory hurricane work (termination if evacuate) , poor maternity leave only 6 weeks, have to take own short term disability and only pay 60% of salary (4 weeks out of 6 weeks), nurses week barely any activities ( decrease more stuff as years go by)

    Advice to Management

Better training for orientee and better pay/beneifts- so less turnover rate. Award employees on each floor and recognize all employers not just doctors. Make nurses week spectacular! Give us bonus or higher raise each year. Less money to advertising and Daytona Speedway.

I worked at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Positive reputation in the community - people & culture are what sets this company apart from others. Multi-hospital system allows opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

Hours, Pay, and Leadership are sub-par overall. New execs treat their roles in Daytona Beach as a "minor league" to advance into the Orlando market. Continuous change in leadership/direction causes unnecessary problems.

    Advice to Management

Seek to attract/retain leadership who are committed to the Daytona Beach area for longer than 2 years.
