I have been working at Florida International University part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

flexible schedule, you can do homework when it isn't busy, not too much work, you get to plan events, Easy interview, lots of other student assistants, you can work here up to a year after graduation, you can get hired and ask them to grant you work study as financial aid and they will.

    Cons

poor management, lack of communication between managers and student employees, poor event planning, relatively low wage. $10/hr, 20 hours a week, You can work closer to 30 hours if you're a work study employee.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job at assigning roles for the student assistants

    Pros

    Good benefits. And convenient

    Cons

They'll have you come in on a Monday to lay you off after decades of service!

    Advice to Management

Be more considerate. Stop selling off pieces of BBC to build MMC. There's a whole community you're taking away from.

I worked at Florida International University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people at FIU are sort of friendly. The president of the university seems very friendly and intelligent, and he tries very hard to portray the school positively in the community.

    Cons

I found the majority to be overworked and underpaid. There isn't much room for growth unless someone dies or moves on.
