    Pros

    Good benefits. And convenient

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Be more considerate. Stop selling off pieces of BBC to build MMC. There's a whole community you're taking away from.

    Pros

    This is about FIU ONLINE.
    Instructional Designers get compensated well.
    Instructional Designers get extensive training.
    Room for advancement.
    Project oriented.
Opportunity to attend conferences and other professional development.

    Cons

    Unhealthy competition.
    Extremely territorial.
If you're disliked by the wrong person, depending on whose home they've visited after hours, your life becomes a living hell on the job.
They love rumors, gossip and anything that makes their perceived competition look bad, I guess you can say this could be any job, but the pretense they put on makes this situation special.
You have a Executive who doesnt know Instructional Design and after a while.on the job, finally starts to teach a class, but passed it on to an Instructional Designer to teach for him, because he had no time.
Oh, and while facing this internal crud, you still have onery faculty to contend with and if they complain, you're fired; might take a while, but its happening. Even if they have to get folks to make it up, or hire someone that looks like you so you cant claim discrimination.
    Yes, very unique place, indeed.

    Advice to Management

None. Stay where you are and watch someone who does know what should be happening, dethrone you. FIU, overall, wants to be rated one of the best places to work in South Florida. They need to clean up FIU Online first.

    Pros

You get good time off and they pay part of your tuition. Most holidays are off, except a couple here and there.

    Cons

There is no leadership, as managers do not do their job. All departments struggle due to the incompetence of their employees as well as the lack of management. Compensation is veryyyyy low!

    Advice to Management

Be a manager. Don't have three different people doing the same basic job.

    Cons

    Never get raises.
Stuck in the same position forever no matter how hard you work

    Advice to Management

    Make it IT friendly
This is somewhat of a creative industry and we need to be treated differently from the 9 to 5 people.
