    - Flexible work schedule
    - Good pay for someone who is still in school
    - Convenient if you go to school there as well
    - Good location around plenty of restaurants and stores
    - Academic culture
    - Very independent work environment
    - Lots of opportunities to learn if you take advantage

    - Not for you if you aren't a self-starter
    - Too many different people acting as a supervisor and giving conflicting directions

    - Set up a hierarchy of authority
    - Be more selective about your interns

    Pros

    It was great working for the Math and Stat department at FIU. The hours are very flexible and the student are eager to learn.

    Cons

    Perhaps the department could be a little bigger but maybe that isn't the concentration of the university at this point.

    Advice to Management

    Please expand the department to include more advanced applied courses.
