    Pros

    * Great benefits
    * Lots of opportunities in a variety of technical and non-technical fields
    * Corporate office has best benefits and location (Juno Beach)
    * Profit sharing is based upon how company does during the year, usually well

    Cons

    * Many outer locations and satellite offices have far fewer amenities

I worked at Florida Power & Light (More than a year)

    Pros

solid pay and benefits. Nice corporate offices in Juno beach florida with gym overlooking duck pond.

    Cons

Toxic GE like culture full of arrogant ego maniacal jerks. Inefficient and corrupt to the core. The PUC needs to take a hard look at this company because the rate payers are getting scammed.

    Advice to Management

Advice to the arrogant is a waste

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Florida Power & Light full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Employees (not management) are great people. Also, the 401k and pension benefits are great. But that's pretty much where it ends.

    Cons

Too much outsourcing as management only cares about the bottom dollar. You see more contractors in the building than employees. The ratio of contractors to employees is 80/20. You are expected to work 50 hours a week at least, but usually we need to work more than 60 to get the job done due to the lack of resources. Employees are underpaid for the jobs they are doing and you have to leave the company and come back in order to make more money.

    Advice to Management

Care more about the people that are making you rich and less about the stock price. I would highly recommend the CEO go on Undercover Boss so he could see what it's like. But I'm sure in his case ignorance is bliss.

    Pros

Highly competitive pay and benefits in a place where not too many large corporations are headquartered. Respected by other utility companies and the work is challenging and can be rewarding.

    Cons

Low emphasis on work-life balance, and Pay & Benefits don't seem to take into account living in high cost areas such as Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach, which put some at a disadvantage unless you live in more rural locations further north or west. Somewhat little job security, reorganizations occur quite often.

    Advice to Management

Emphasize valuing and rewarding your employees, additional personnel may prevent such struggle.
