I worked at Flowers Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The product is competitive in the market

    Cons

The marketing of the product is inconsistent with industry standard. The product comes in late to the warehouse compared to industry standard. You're considered an independent contractor, but treated like a company employee. The compensation is not equivalent to the work description. You work all major holidays except Christmas and Thanksgiving

    Advice to Management

Hire management that has experience in the field and can relate to driver concerns. Also, would be helpful to help drivers grow routes and territories, instead of leaving them to fend for themselves ....then when bonus for the quarter comes around, the company adds additional product to drivers without asking the drivers , so that District Managers can make bonus. A TREMENDOUS amount of extra product! If drivers are independent operators, that is a violation of the contract that Flowers Foods extends to drivers.

I worked at Flowers Foods full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The pay was decent if you're fortunate enough to get it, charge backs and hidden costs are extremely common.

    Cons

Your only independent when it's convenient for the company otherwise they give you the same amount of freedom as the residents of North Korea, get used to constant threats and harassment no sleep or family time. After years of torment and stress I had no other choice but to walk away and let sales managers continue to destroy the company from the inside out.

    Advice to Management

Most of the "management" have never stepped foot unto a truck as a distributor and if they have it was back in the 80s when you had 4 hour days and not enough products to fit on a cardboard display, so back of your distribution army cause if it wasn't for them you'd be homeless.

    Pros

I can not think of any postitive attributes that the tech side of this copany offers.

    Cons

--No Flexibility, you are expected to be at work at 8:00AM sharp regardless of the countless on call hours worked from the night before.Often these phone calls can last into the early morning hours.
--On call rotation is horrible 24/7 when it’s your week and most of the calls entail fixing job failures that occur due to old and antiquated technology or trouble shooting issues from workers in the field that do not have the intelligence or training to perform their job
--No work/life balance! If you have a sick child or need to take care one of life’s many unforeseen circumstances be prepared to answer 1000 questions.
--Work from home is not authorized even though you will spend ridiculous hours working from home resolving issues when you are on call??
--Basically System Analyst are glorified Tech Support. The help desk will just call you in the middle of the night when they can’t figure out how to resolve an issue.
--Parking! You have to park blocks away in order to accommodate the Southern Baptist Church across the street.
--You are shunned upon if one prefers to take lunch, it is preferred that you work through lunch
--vacation package and benefits are not so good
--Management lacks the ability to communicate

    Advice to Management

Hmmm well new managment might be the only way to improve things.
