I have been working at Flowserve full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Shop is climate controlled is the only pro!

    Cons

The management could care less about the employees. The Tulsa facility is ran horrible they want you to rush thru everything. Everything is based of efficiency. The times they give you to do is unreal. They use that to give a crappy raise if you even get one. Then they wonder why parts are wrong. First it's efficiency then quality then safety. They act like it's the other way around. Everyone tells on every one. Even the word Christmas offends people. Only way to move up is kiss butt. They also have no hr so management can do what they want! You may be on 40 hours all week then all of a sudden mandatory ot planning sucks! Worst place I have ever worked!

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better! Quit rushing maybe there would be less ncmrs. Pay them the money they are worth. Not like people with no experience!

I have been working at Flowserve full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay check every other week to pay the bills. The products are not challenging so your job will be easy but at the same time you will not learn anything if you are an experienced professional.

    Cons

Engineering, Purchasing, Service, Production control are being outsourced to India, manufacturing to China, No employee development, Pay is average. If you have an advanced degree, work will be boring and not challenging. Can't see a reason to work there unless you don't have a job or you don't care about your career development.

    Pros

Big company with money to spend

    Cons

They bought our location, took what they wanted and product and they close it down. They think that anyone can do what we can. Just business

    Pros

Strong financially sound company with global reach. Great products and long history. Heritage of company goes back to the 1790's and has many strong brand names.

    Cons

People don't count and are just treated like tools. Total focus on the financials and too much bickering among senior management. This is a serial restructuring company so your job is never safe.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and realize businesses run on people. You cannot grow when nobody feels like their job is secure regardless of how well they do it. Senior management should get out and talk to people and communicate better.

I worked at Flowserve full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Worked there a long time, company cared more about employees when I started.

    Cons

Closed division in Dayton, Ohio and let everyone go to move jobs to Mexico and other places.

    Advice to Management

Think about employees you let go especially the ones that had 25+ years that were not given a bridge to 30 years like other divisions were given. Very sad.

I have been working at Flowserve full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent pay; 401k contributions; pension plan, company paid; convenient location to mid-major airport for travel; building hides the lies inside... Perfect place for someone to come in and do just enough to get by. Missing a deadline is perfectly acceptable, surely it is someone else's fault, couldn't possibly be your...

    Cons

Don't rock the boat... there is a spectacularly blinded understanding of the current happenings within the facility.

Have an independent thought that could improve the systems or programs? Best to forget about it, you will likely be chastised and ridiculed for not being a team player...

Have career ambitions for advancement? Best to look elsewhere, unless you are spinless and completely unqualified for a management role...

Don't anger the G.O.B. members you will be blacklisted and become a scapegoat for anything that may go wrong.

    Advice to Management

Open your ears and close your mouth... Good people have good ideas; are willing to go the extra mile, unless the micromanagement system in place deters ideas. Change your staff to people who aren't afraid to speak the truth, no matter how grim the truth is. When you ask a question, allow the responder to respond completely, regardless of what you want to hear...

You are doing a good job of running off talent and stagnating growth; before long the Master Plan will be finalized and you will be surrounded by spinelss brown-nosers who couldn't navigate their way out of a wet paperbag, even if they were pushed through it...
