    I worked at Flowserve full-time

    Pros

When not traveling, worked mostly from home.

    Cons

Management is highly focused on the bottom line which drastically affects the experience level in some cases.

    Advice to Management

While the bottom line is important, analysis of skill sets should be a factor in the layoff decision

    Pros

Free Sodas, IT building is separate from headquarters so you can dress casually, very smart people

    Cons

IT is very lean. You have to take on many hats. You'll be on contract for a while before they consider you to permanent if it even happens. High turnover recently in IT.

I worked at Flowserve (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Consistent work, great fellow employees, excellent medical benifits and retirement benifits.

    Cons

Management is looking for yes people, not quality people. HR is horrendous and doesn't know their place. Raises in recent years have been little to non existent. Only concern seems to be bottom lines.

    Advice to Management

Actually care about your employees instead of just acting like it. Get rid of management types who only care about yes men, and not real talent.

I have been working at Flowserve full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I like my job. Pay is decent, the people on my team are good people and I enjoy our office. The company is experiencing a downturn right now because oil is down, but luckily my site has not had any layoffs. The company itself is pretty good but not the best. Good 401k, offers a pension (which almost no company does), ok medical, and a little above average pay.

    Cons

The management at our local facility however, is lacking. There is no consistency, no follow through, no involvement, and no engagement. if you are not an engineer there is very limited growth available to you.

    Advice to Management

Get involved! Learn the basics so you can understand the struggles of your team and the problems in the processes. You are completely out of touch and unknowledgeable.
