    Pros

Strong financially sound company with global reach. Great products and long history. Heritage of company goes back to the 1790's and has many strong brand names.

    Cons

People don't count and are just treated like tools. Total focus on the financials and too much bickering among senior management. This is a serial restructuring company so your job is never safe.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and realize businesses run on people. You cannot grow when nobody feels like their job is secure regardless of how well they do it. Senior management should get out and talk to people and communicate better.

    Pros

Great people, good pay, good benefits

    Cons

Limited advancement potential. Flowserve is a manufacturer of heavy industrial equipment - over time layoffs have been more frequent. The company is doing the right thing for shareholders by pushing towards moving to low cost regions for manufacturing and engineering, but that leaves those working in USA plants in a not-so-great position. As a result of drive towards globalization, advancement opportunities continue to diminish. Flowserve is currently taking opportunity in market downturn in oil and gas to really speed up plans to eliminate USA jobs and move to low cost regions.

I have been working at Flowserve (More than a year)

    Pros

Solid company, very competitive products. Good compensation and benefits, talented people.

    Cons

Little room to grow, and very silo based culture. Basically no investment on employees. The industry is currently facing tough times.

    Advice to Management

Develop better on-boarding processes for new hires, it is very difficult to pick up on a new position.

I worked at Flowserve full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Worked there a long time, company cared more about employees when I started.

    Cons

Closed division in Dayton, Ohio and let everyone go to move jobs to Mexico and other places.

    Advice to Management

Think about employees you let go especially the ones that had 25+ years that were not given a bridge to 30 years like other divisions were given. Very sad.

I worked at Flowserve (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People working here are friendly and helpful. Location for commute is ideal. Allows time away for dr appointments and any other need during the day not possible after 5pm week days without penalty. Very willing to help each other with knowledge base and experience base to reduce mistakes. Mistakes made are not harshly penalized if the lesson is learned and try not to do it again. Most people here have the can-do attitude.

    Cons

Pay is below average. Ability to get good raises not possible. The attitude of some management is to deflect blame. No loyalty - if they aren't hiring then they're firing. Driven by global pricing sacrificing quality. Computers are locked down too much for security- instead of punishing the abusers everyone pays the price with computer lockdown. HR dept has converted to web based applications. They will only refer you to the HR website and wish you luck.

    Advice to Management

Immediate management is great. Senior management at Dallas and other offsite completely out of touch with needs and business. Only about the 'numbers' is blinding them to exceed their reputation in the business place. Senior Management loyalty is very low to the other business units. Springville makes

    Pros

    Cons

Poor Management, Lack of respect for personal time (long work hours!), Poor documentation of previous jobs (hard for new hires to fill roles), multiple roles to fill but pay doesn't represent it, lack of experience in roles (due to high turnover rate)

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees, honor their requests and the turnover rate will not be as high
