I worked at Fluency Media full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fluency has some of the smartest and nicest people in the agency business anywhere to be found. I worked there for three years and stay in touch with current and past employees and management. It continues to create great results for its clients. It's a great place to work if you enjoy using your brain to solve difficult client problems and working with like-minded, good people. This is all led by the CEO, who is a relentless...

    Cons

Fluency is independent, so it does have to fight against some larger publicly head competitors/ad networks. This is typically a positive, but sometimes puts you at a resource disadvantage. Also, as an independent boutique, there is no set career path, so it's not a place to come work if you want to climb the corporate ladder versus attack difficult client problems.

    Advice to Management

Keep the focus on the client and on blazing the digital trail. However, see if there are small ways to give employees bites of the corporate ladder. While challenging work and compensation are important (and you cover that), younger employees will respond to additional incentives.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Fluency Media full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Management - over my seven years of employment, I've had the pleasure of working closely with the company's CEO, Tim Schaden. You're not going to find many companies where the CEO is so actively involved with literally every one of his employees, including interns and entry-level positions. I really do feel like my bosses here are like family, for which I consider myself exceptionally fortunate. Fluency's management really...

    Cons

These are not necessarily "cons" to everyone. The following considerations are certainly not cons to me personally, though perhaps I could offer my two-cents to some of the negative reviews listed earlier... 1) You need to be able to innovate with the company. You can't always wait for someone to give you something to do and you should expect that your job duties will change from time to time to meet the needs of...

I worked at Fluency Media full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

My time at Fluency included a fantastic set of marketing and technology experiences. I was part of a small team that worked on a number of highly visible, national brand accounts. Fun,, fast-paced, diverse, and full of opportunities to stretched the boundaries of traditional marketing. This company rewards those who are willing to take responsibilities and run with them. I was allowed to try many different disciplines...

    Cons

With a small team came many hats to wear. This presented challenges at times, without reliable back-up staff for certain key activities.
