Know your rights and learn how to protect them.

    Pros

Benefits, 401K. Non-US citizens openly discouraged from joining the US locations. Enticing opportunities for challenges if you are a reliable workhorse.

    Cons

    - Work six hours without taking lunch? - 30 minutes automatically deducted per formal policy. Classified - overtime not exempt? - this deduction is illegal in many states. (Paychecks show time stamps with false total. Manually subtract the hours and Vuala!) - Classified as salaried employee - overtime exempt? Yet working mad hours, performing vast variety of only menial tasks! A lot of employees cheated out of overtime by position and occupational misclassification (Check DOL duties test) - God forbid, you try to clarify or resolve issues above - in the past employees fired for that. - Unequal Pay For Equal Work: Females shoved into low-level occupations performing the same work as males, where both will have similar qualifications such as education or seniority.

    Pros

Nice coworkers, nice office space, good benefits

    Cons

After reading many of the other reviews i have to say that i agree with the limited opportunities and lower pay for women. There is a HUGH focus on “meeting the numbers” and pressure applied accordingly.

Worst company I've ever worked for

    Oct 25, 2016 - Buyer/Planner in Everett, WA

    Pros

Pay and time off are solid. Decent work-life balance.

    Cons

Look, I've worked at a good number of companies. I know what's out there. Fluke is run by politicians who have no interest in doing what it takes to get the job done. Fluke is old world. They have tons of trouble even just making legacy products like they do. Current supply chain needs to be destroyed and rebuilt. Dysfunctional because of personal political agendas. Even if you are willing and able to change the company and improve it, don't expect anyone to be on your side... expect them to actively work against and discourage you. Management discourages innovation despite the fact that Fluke desperately needs updating - Fluke cannot keep relying on products that were designed 30+ years ago. Eventually the free money train will run out because competition is making modern products. Many of the employees are former interns and have no idea what they are doing. Little to no experience throughout the entire company except for small groups of employees of near retirement age who refuse to pass down their knowledge to the incapable younger hires. I do not blame them. Extremely high turnover. I put in my two weeks and they offered to promote me in order to keep me. I laughed and still quit. They claim that quality is important but have no QA department, amazingly. Buyers are expected to do QA and are absolutely not qualified. They still use the Kanban system. They have an ERP system but do not use it. Dozens of outside-the-system-workarounds are typical, each made by different people. Employees fear management too much. "Cover your butt" emails are extremely common. Again, politics. Employees who have been there for any significant duration are afraid to change anything due to backlash. Inefficient - Manufacturing issues talked about over and over without action or progress. Management only responds to crisis situations - no planning ahead at all. Everything is hot, late, expedited, etc. Few work instructions - tribal knowledge is by far king. Avoid this company unless you want to be stuck in the 1970s forever. It represents the worst of corporate America. You will not be able to build a career here. You will be value-less to any other company outside of Fluke.

Very profit and cost cutting driven. Very little respect for their employees.

    Pros

    Fluke brand... that's about it.

    Cons

-Number, numbers, numbers. Profit and cost cutting takes priority over everything. -Very long hours due to small head count, part of the cost cutting tradition. -Low compensation. Looks good on paper, but most people I know (including myself) is well under their 'target pay'. -You have to pull teeth to get a promotion or decent raise. -Very high workload demand. Zero respect for personal life. -Outdated equipment. We're forced to use everything until they're obsolete or broken. Worst is our computers. I've worked there for almost 10 years now and I'm still using the same computer I started with... -Despite our hard efforts and loyalty many of us got a pay cut during the recession in 2009 after not getting our annual raise... -Owned by Danaher, which is the cause of our poor business practice and priority on numbers.

    Look elsewhere

    Nov 18, 2019 - Operation Manager

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good benefits- 3 weeks of PTO right away, best dental around, and

    Cons

Pay is not competitive to other companies in the area. Career growth doesn't look as promising as it was explained in the beginning. Employees are not held accountable and HR is spread very thin making it difficult to get support. Everyone is trying to make their name instead of making this company work as a well run unit.

    Senior Technician and Supervisor

Jul 7, 2014 - Senior Technician and Supervisor in Everett, WA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Highly qualified technical personnel and extremely hard working people

    Cons

Very little work/life balance. I was sucked into a supervisory position and promised I would be ahead of any technician within 2 years. That never happened and I supervised technicians that made far more than I did on overtime. e ended up taking pay cuts and furlough days towards the end and I left because I saw the writing on the wall. Danaher will burn people out as fast as they can and just replace once they're burnt out.
