I have been working at Fluor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and great benefits. Dental, vision, health, life insurance. Retirement savings plan. Uniforms, and vehicle provided. Four weeks of PTO after one year.

    Cons

Disorganized, bad communication. Very difficult to purchase material for projects. Every purchase (big or small) is handled as a phone sale. They will not set up accounts with suppliers. Their system works for corporate maintenance, but not so much for new construction.

    Advice to Management

Treat each and every "team" with the same amount of respect

I have been working at Fluor full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to work. Well compensated, no free lunch. Exciting and challenging projects. Has a lot of horse power and resources.

    Cons

Takes along time for new programs to be initiated.

    Advice to Management

Every action by everyone must be tied to a revenue producing project. Get the right people on the bus. Then have the right people in the right seat and keep them onboard. Becoming bureaucratic; think like a start up everyday....

    Pros

I like the safety meetings every mornings, also the no cell phone use policy, i like the efforts for the well being of all employees.

Being mandatory to work on sundays, i wish working on sundays were optional and not been thinking your going to be fired because you want 1 day off.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the foremans followed the safety policies even when they are in a rush to gave things done.

    Pros

Stick with the company and see where they take you! There's so much work all over the world -- if you define yourself as a hard-working valuable team member, they will help you move to advance your career.

    Cons

The unfortunate "buddy" system is evident as with many corporate organizations. If you know the right people, you will go even further. So, play the game and make friends with everyone you meet.

    Advice to Management

You're doing a great job, keep it up. Embrace change and the future will be even brighter.
