    Pros

When times are good, there is opportunity to grow as an engineer or branch into project management. Good people to work with. Supervisors care. Excellent pay.

    Cons

Oil and gas industry is very slow right now. Going through downturn in personnel. When work is tight, the company puts priority on making money versus maybe earning less profit in order to win a project and keep people.

I worked at Fluor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Inside the box: The people, challenge, clients, scale and scope of projects, are incredible and the sense of achievement when a project is complete is amazing. The systems and tools used to undertake these world scale efforts are first class and enforce an environment of continual learning

    Cons

Outside the box: Although the remuneration and benefits are really good, the office and executive management teams attitude towards the inside-the-box employees is somewhat distant with a more of a hire and fire, people are resources mentality.

    Advice to Management

A long term people nurturing culture rather than a short term stock price focus would make employees feel more secure.

    Pros

Fluor is a big company and can provide a lot of resources and opportunities for a highly motivated new graduate.
