I worked at Fluor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The training you receive is top notch, the people are great, and you have an amazing pool of resources with which to do your job. All-in-all, one of the best and most rewarding places I've worked in my career.

    Cons

It is a big company, and (like any big company) just doing your job well is not enough. You have to be noticed by the right people.

I have been working at Fluor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fluor has the best most challenging projects in the world. Usually the people you work with are first class professionals. Their projects always require a high degree of quality and stress safety every single day. Fluor's clients are also first class such as Exxonmobil and Shell. Fluor is a EPCM contractor. The can provide a client with everything, not matter where it is or how hard it is.

    Cons

Fluor's projects are usually very big and usually they are in some very rough locations. It requires long periods of time away from your family. When you sign on to these projects it is a job where you will give them 10 to 14 hours a day. That's the job.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your experienced people and take care of them. They are the biggest asset you have to offer to your clients.

    Pros

Generous benefits, salary on high end, lots of autonomy, company sponsored activities, employees generally do not leave unless laid off.

    Cons

Hard for admin staff to attain bonuses, it's a male dominated corp, although they do something for admin staff every year, but it's not money, which most people prefer.

    Advice to Management

There are many good, reliable, productive admin at Fluor however, if an admin is not part of a certain "group," they are not afforded the same opportunities as admin that are. The powers that be tell an admin they will call you and give you a chance but the don't always do that. The shouldn't tell you they'll call if that's the case. Same people get the calls. I know because those same people tell me. Loyalty for your years of service is not the same toward every employee.
