I have been working at Flynn Canada (More than a year)

    Pros

Overtime pay is good not to many places have that
Weekly pay is great no one pays weekly
OK benefits you have to put the money down first

    Cons

    Horrible roofing management
Months off do to no work and will have no answer of when you are able to come back.
Management does not care about you they only want to make a better bonus for themselves.
Foreman do not do anything but talk on their phones and walk around.
Not that good of hours when you do work.
    Rush rush rush.
    No training when needed.
Sometimes the only work is out of town and if you don't go or can't go then you stay home without work.
If your new then there is no chance they will keep you going if work is thin.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Flynn Canada full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - work hours (Monday to Friday 7-4)
    - there is a workout gym for $25/month
    - cleanliness
    - the CEO (Doug Flynn) is very passionate about the company, he's hilarious, and probably the only good thing about this company
    - free food, and pretty frequent

    Cons

    - you are just a pawn to them; they do not truly care about you
    - senior level management are all liars and snakes; you have to watch your own back because nobody else has it
    - don't socialize with co-workers because you WILL get fired for it; you're not allowed to make friends
    - very little training; it's like they want you to fail
    - most people working with you are FAKE people
    - HR will backup the wrongdoings of the senior management; they are very unprofessional
    - there's a reason everyone is so young there; they hire you for SHORT TERM employment, then replace you for cheaper labour (i.e. co-op students)
    - the workplace environment is awful

    Advice to Management

    - try being real instead of fake; nobody likes a liar
    - you should reward those who actually do their work instead of firing them for a nonsense reason that is untrue
    - allow for more cohesion in your employees and allow them to socialize; it's unhealthy for them to sit in front of a computer for 9 hours a day like a robot
    - don't defend senior management when they are condescending to those below them; you are creating a negative working environment. These are the people you should be firing

I worked at Flynn Canada (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - free coffee
    - free pizza pizza 4 times a year.
    - access to washrooms
    - 15 minute morning break with a half hour "paid" lunch
    - good amount of vending machines accessible
    - parking was free
    - uniform was free, cleaning of the uniform free which came in clutch.

    Cons

    - upper management hard headed, complicated at times to speak to
    - production and profit supersede safety
    - secretive staff (HR)
    - Don't expect to make friends here as speaking to each other for too long can cause you to lose employment
    - a good amount of hypocrisy fills the atmosphere of the workplace
    - management all the way from the top practices of constant eerie uncomfortable practices e.g. secretly watching employees as they work and criticize when it goes against company policy

    Advice to Management

Stop changing the title of the company seriously, changing the name wont make people forget who were treated indifferently. The management has been changed constantly, there is no bond between the employers and employees. The morning meetings which they put into place for the workers within the last year was a means as a way to get the employees together and prepared for the day. However, that much itself was a joke as it was just a way to make sure the employees were in on time, and to prevent procrastination of their workers.

    Pros

Good location, and that's all. There is nothing more good.

    Cons

poor salary, so much back stabbing, white culture

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees well. Pay them well

    Pros

    pay well
when there are jobs available they are good jobs.
    Good benefits package and pension

    Cons

Haven't worked in two weeks. Apparently no jobs right now.
Excuse is there are delays so they need to move around start dates but when you have a family to support, being off work for a month or two (which is the estimated time I will be off) is crap.
For a big international company, its hard to believe there is no work available. If you are not seniority you get the shaft with this company.

    Advice to Management

Keep your workers busy. When it's summer, there is no excuse for people to be off work!

I have been working at Flynn Canada full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity for those who go above an beyond their job description. It's a good place if you need a job, but an even better place if you want a career (cause those are two different things).

    Cons

Hours and workload can be overwhelming for some more often than not. An odd 10 or 12 hour day here and there is manageable, but this can become the norm during busy periods, for both management and supporting staff.

    Advice to Management

Be aware of the amount of time your employees are putting in. Recognition doesn't necessarily need to in the form of monetary compensation.
