Benefits can be slightly better, however, management and HR are actively looking at options to continue to enhance our benefits

I have been working at Fonteva full-time

    Pros

Good product, fast growing technology company, lots of free snacks

    Cons

There is so much paperwork, updates, conditional 'if' 'then' fields, and in general, the most complexity I have ever seen in the opportunity management here, that there is very little time leftover to actually sell anything.

    Advice to Management

Simplify business processes, not make them more complex!

I worked at Fonteva full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Non-management work colleagues are very nice people.

    Cons

Benefits package is not good - worst I've ever had. Decent medical plan options are way too expensive and affordable plans have very high deductibles - much to be desired. Not enough PTO. No 401k plan--really?!

    Advice to Management

Offer a more competitive benefits and compensation package.

I have been working at Fonteva full-time

    Pros

Convenient office with nice facilities and employee camaraderie.

    Cons

Poor management decisions. Very niche market product. The software is not as complicated as management makes it out to be.

    Advice to Management

Don't tease potential employees who are spending time with your executive team - you are putting them through a very personal and time consuming process. This ruins your brand in the marketplace.

    Pros

Free food and snacks always!!! Product is awesome and you will enjoy working on it.

    Cons

Micromanagement!!! No appreciation of work by managers, they want the work done but doesnt care about the employee. Low pay for the work we do. Also they fire or lay off good working people but keep the ones who are bad and doesnt even know salesforce. Some managers do not even know what is Salesforce but still try to catch the executives and survive. Managers wont support the employee in anyways. Treat all employees equally and if you are more close with the management you get more benefits.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to employees, what their concern is and also

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. The company is growing quickly without sacrificing culture or values. Great leadership.

I worked at Fonteva full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

All in all Fonteva was a great company to really learn and take on a role in sales. Also, their products are top of the line in the membership/events world. The people that you will work with here are willing to help answer questions and point you in the right direction. Also, culture wise.. the dress/atmosphere is very laid back so that is a plus.

    Cons

When it comes to freedom... this part lacks. This is a great company, but the micromanaging has got to stop if they want to keep good employees in the door. Also, they need listen to their employees that they invest in when it comes to pay raises, ideas, and overall concerns. There is also a disconnect when it comes to working with different departments in the organization. A very big "you have to watch your back" feeling when you walk in every day.

    Advice to Management

Keep making and selling great software. But be sure to listen to your employees and TRUST them with any concerns and/or ideas to improve. Also, weed the negative employees out to keep the great ones in the company.

    I worked at Fonteva full-time

    Pros

    - Great office in a great area - Ballston has lots of great restaurants.
     - The offices are pretty cool and I love the open office area
     - Very casual dress code
     - Everyone that works there is very nice, smart, and dedicated to their work.
     - Being a part of a growing company is very exciting.
     - The work is super interesting and feels very important.

    Cons

Almost every woman was fired within three months. They'll say there's a low turnover, and that may have been true a while ago, but that's not true any longer.

Terrible project management process - they're trying to reinvent the wheel needlessly.

Pleasing the CEO is the most important thing and he is very prone to radical changes in directions and tantrums.

Health benefits are terrible as well - very expensive and very limited.

I have been working at Fonteva full-time

    Pros

Start-up environment & culture where you learn a lot daily and have lots of growth opportunity. Very transparent, open, authentic & collaborative. People are generally very friendly, supportive, professional & fun. At/above-market compensation (offsets less benefits).

    Cons

One must be flexible to constant change & very fast pace--this is a pro if you like this kind of environment. Spurts of lots of work/hours during go-lives, etc. (Otherwise, generally good work-life balance.) Because small, benefits not as generous as large companies, but progressively getting better. CEO can be challenging but allows people to grow. He also doesn't hold grudges & truly forgets about past mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Set the strategic plan and stay with the plan to see if it'll work before making changes too soon.

I worked at Fonteva full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you're looking for a 9-5 desk job that has the same work day in and day out, AVOID this company all together. You will work hard, you will be challenged, and you must have a positive attitude and be willing to do anything to deliver. If youre bored and want a challenge and want to learn anything related to software development within the world of Salesforce, this IS your place to go. In short, get ready to work and be expected to deliver.

-You will be challenged daily and will never be bored.
    -Casual dress code.
-You will learn and develop a broad range of skills.
    -Product training materials are fantastic.
-Your job title is meaningless, everyone is expected to contribute and do what it takes to deliver the project. VPs and BAs both get dirty to get it done. No ivory towers and ignorance/lack of skill is no excuse for not trying.
-Team/company meetings are excellent, communication of company, goals, status is clear.
-Management is open and willing to engage and provide feedback with your quality of work and what to do to improve.
-Failure will happen and is expected, own it but make sure you learn from it and dont repeat it.

    Cons

-Benefits like healthcare and 401k are VERY thin. If you have a family consider the lack of benefits and time off before you accept an offer.
-The time and materials micro management of hours is a nightmare, ditch this.
-Sales needs to tighten up their product knowledge as to not sell what cant be delivered or needs to be build.
-You can easily be overwhelmed if your not daily on top of your game. Time off longer than a day or two can hurt you.

    Advice to Management

-Help current employees with better benefits, health insurance and 401k specifically.
-Dump the time and materials billing, go to fixed price. Your customers can budget easier, your employees arent pulling their hair out over .15 of an hour a PM debates as billable or not.
-When hiring people, explicitly highlight the fact its a fast paced and challenging place to work. That way you dont hire people who will later complain about "this isnt my job" or the level of stress that will come. Stressed out and negative people kill team abilities to deliver.
    -Keep the company meetings.
-Get/support free certifications, specifically require sales are SF certified or experienced.
-Hire people that are not former buddies from managements prior company or competitors.
-Work on product feature roll outs to be smoother.
    -Keep internal "how to" meetings.
-Pump up the Labs group headcount to support delivery.
