I worked at Foo Kon Tan full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-People are nice. Most people there are dedicated to their jobs, just trying their best to deliver to the clients and meeting the bare minimum requirements of the superiors. -location is good, right next to raffles place MRT.

    Cons

once you leave the firm, you are their enemy. doesnt matter how long/hard you worked. you are regarded as trash the moment you resign , no matter the reason for leaving. #1 reason for people to leave is because no career progression in the firm and management is living in their own dream that it's a blessing for anyone to be hired by FKT. Wanted to get the management to sign my work experience for CA qualification. Management does not wish to sign and was making things difficult by refusing to meet for an explanation on the reason for not signing. 1. cannot claim expenses for OT. 2. cannot claim leave for OT. 3. OT is the norm and expected so please dont expect any form of appreciation. 4. Lack of resources for guidance on complex issues. very few technically sound superiors. 5. No template/consistency in the firm - different manager = different styles/requirements 6. will find ways and excuses to delay signing your work experience for CA Singapore work experience qualification 7. cannot claim taxi if OT. 8. bonus is as common as a unicorn. 9. salary is paltry and not worth the effort 10. overworked partners, managers and staff. 11. dog eat dog at the upper management level 12. this firm is kind to useless staff who always MIA and dont do their work but will "go by the book" for staff who do put in the effort and try their best 13. everyday just wishing for 2 years bond to be over soon because any day longer is a day wasted in your career progression. 14. people rejecting job offers so they are desperate for people and will hire incompetent people which brings down the quality and staff morale as they dont do work and the dedicated team members have to pick up after them.

I have been working at Foo Kon Tan full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly colleagues. And that is it.

    Cons

Depending on which team you join, you have your luck. Seniors are way overworked and underpaid. Poor management with bias, unfair work and resource allocation even within the same team. Two years bond to all staff so you are tied to the company.

I worked at Foo Kon Tan

    Pros

Friendly senior got a lot of guidance, really get the opportunity to complete tax schedule on your own. Have sufficient workload to not feel bored and don't need to OT at all.

    Cons

Got some office politics among the 2 different team, it super lame tbh. The world need to be more open minded towards one another.

I worked at Foo Kon Tan full-time for more than a year

    Pros

High exposure as you are thrown into various kind of difficulties to fend on your own.

    Cons

Management only care about maximising their profits, thus they will overwork you. Does not matter if you are on legitimate MC or leave, they will still get you to perform the work. Extremely understaffed and under paid, as above, hiring more people means higher overheads. Working overtime of more than 15 hours a day is a norm. Maybe for 100 hours of Over-time, you get to claim 1 hour of Overtime Off Hour, that's if you are lucky. I have seen countless of people who were not able to tolerate the nonsense of management anymore, resulting in breaking the bond period and suffering financial losses.

I worked at Foo Kon Tan full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Colleagues are nice Edit: Can't even find 5 positive words to fill glassdoor limits. Lol.

    Cons

    - Below market pay: Lower than comparable mid-tier rank, two ranks lower than big 4 pay - Two-years bond: management operates on the assumption that staff leaves after two-year and treats staff accordingly - Old management, resist change. Still do paper audit in this day and age - "Monkey see, monkey do practices": everything is either "follow last year" or "follow my other jobs" - Zero incentive to learn whatsoever: See above - Blame cultures
