I worked at Food Basics (Less than a year)

    Pros

The workplace had a nice aura between employees and customers. Very family oriented, would celebrate birthdays for employees, remembered customers by name etc.

    Cons

Managers could not delegate authority properly, constantly had to re position employees from cashier to freezer aisle to cart pickup. This was understandably a nuisance to any employee no knowing whether they would be a cashier or other throughout their shift.

I worked at Food Basics part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I didn't have to wear a uniform or keep my name tag on the entire time.

    Cons

I applies for part time and the first 2 weeks has 40 hours each.
A part of my paycheck was taken out to cover "union costs"
An 8 hour work night had me in the store for 10 hours.
After firing me after my third week, the number they gave me to get the money taken out for "union costs" back led to no where.

  8. "Miserable for a wage not worth the hassle."

I worked at Food Basics part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The few coworkers I was with were nice.

    Cons

Small wages for monotonous overnight work. They also lied about my hours. A quarter of my paycheck when to a union that I received no benefits from. My supervisor then gave me a phone number that led to no where after letting me go, claiming the number would reimburse me for the union money.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the numbers you give out actually lead somewhere. Also, don't make a worker work full-time when you tell them and they sign up for part-time.
