I have been working at Foodbuy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Management is listening and has done a good job of sharing the broader vision and aligning goals across the organization

    Cons

Due to the many clients and segments Foodbuy services, it can be very complicated to satisfy all clients and managers

    Advice to Management

Keep listening and communicating so the employees understand how they can better service the clients.

I worked at Foodbuy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Strong parent company, benefits and stability as a organization. Based on the written culture and handbook this would be a great place to work.

    Cons

Poor work life balance, morale and major disconnect between management and employees. Handbook and actions do not line up together.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees before it's too late and you lose someone that's not so easy to replace or worse your practices costs the company a lot of money in lawsuits.

I have been working at Foodbuy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Positive environment that encourages creative and innovative thinkers
Benefits in line with industry standards (or maybe slightly better) including flex scheduling, PTO, holidays, medical/dental/vison/etc. and great social events to encourage collaboration and working relationships.
Access to senior leaders with high moral standards who really listen, provide guidance and make changes to meet the needs of a changing workforce and are willing to invest in resources and improvements to business (tools, environment). They expect optimistic, solution oriented, committed, self-starters. If that's you... Foodbuy would be a good fit!

    Cons

Complicated business model that takes time to understand as a new associate. You really have to dig in and learn from your colleagues to be successful especially if you've not worked in the field
Conservative (or maybe slow) decision making and change cycle

    Advice to Management

I think management is on the right path. Many improvements to tools, training, resources, structure have been recently implemented or on the horizon.

I have been working at Foodbuy full-time

    Pros

Great, balanced work environment. Great benefits. (401k matching, 20 days use or lose vacation, 10 Holidays and 1 floating holiday, company pitches in towards health insurance costs) Fun coworkers. Accessible executives. Jeans allowed on Fridays. They even have a fun committee to make sure things in the office are never dull. We celebrate days like Cinco De Mayo and National Chocolate Milk Day. Team and company outings. Pretty good and inexpensive cafeteria food. What's not to love?

    Cons

The learning curve for the complex business model isn't for everyone. Once you get here, you do have to take the initiative to dig in and learn your role. Training is available to you and management understands the steep learning curve, so don't be afraid to ask for additional training or help if needed.

    Pros

nice office, good area to work at, few great people there

    Cons

chauvinist place where you get singled out for being single. management turns the cheek when other employees have "personal" relationships with them. if you are single, you'll be asked to work way more hours like than other people.

    Advice to Management

have better hr rules and teach your managers how to treat single femals

I worked at Foodbuy (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good hours. Weekends and holidays off.pay was good but could have been better

    Cons

No advancement. Only if you had a college degree would they take you serious.

    Advice to Management

Grow up. Management was childish. Made bad decisions that hurt the group and made it hard to improve

I worked at Foodbuy (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    part of a larger corporation

    Cons

Hire overqualified individuals for all positions with no empowerment; only select few can approve anything. Frustratingly slow at change. Few advancement opportunities unless one starts at entry level position. Morale is low and management ignores. Need to benchmark world class procurement organizations and implement lessons learned from them.

    Advice to Management

    reality vs. perceived reality.
