Foodlink Management Thinks You Should Eat WHATEVER They Give You!

Pros

I absolutely loved working with our diverse clients (children and adults) because they were very open to learn, as well as, teach me. During my time at Foodlink I formed some great relationships with colleagues who had similar beliefs and love for people as I did. Bill, our receptionist is one of the nicest people in Rochester and is very warm and welcoming. Working with community partners was equally rewarding because they were open to teaching and guiding employees that interacted with them.

Cons

Working with Foodlink was the WORST experience of my life! If you weren't in the IN crowd your thoughts and opinions didn't matter and the organization is very cliquish. My experience was equivalent to being in a real life "Mean Girls" movie, only 10 times worst! ALL people in management think they're the end all and be all with all the knowledge the universe holds which is far from accurate. Just because they're 'highly educated' or were favored by the CEO isn't indicative of their ability to effectively operate the organization. They also lack any sort of soft/people skills but constantly talked about internal and external customer service which they didn't abide by. There are the phoniest people I've ever met in my life! Don't be fooled by the fake smiles. I honestly don't believe they really care about the clients, they're only concerned about their bottom line/numbers. The organization also lacks true diversity which is explains why they think and behave with a limited, jaded perspective. Lastly, there's significant turnover for an organization that doesn't have a large staff. People either realized they're working in hell and quit or they're forced out with unreasonable, uncompromising ultimatums. Many employees were pressured into working more than 40 hours without being compensated on a regular basis which is a violation of Department of Labor regulations

Pros

You have the ability to help people in the community and take part in a lot of really great events

Cons

-Management is very disorganized and too proud/stubborn to change -Management is extremely passive aggressive and they do not have the ability to mediate conflicts well--If anything they certainly make the situations worse. -Management has no clue what is really going on with their staff and yet insist on intervening in daily business without accurate and relevant background knowledge -Staff has a self-righteous attitude and are very cliquey -You tend to lose sight of the real goals, clients become numbers with no face, name or background story -Turnover rate is very high

Pros

Feel like you're helping, some free food, good benefits (only for full-time staff,) many genuinely kind and pleasant people work here

Cons

Critically unsafe working conditions, cold and inexperienced management, rampant moral licensing, poverty wages for operational staff, stark racial representation disparity between operations and management.
