I worked at Foot Locker full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with were great!

    Cons

Pay is below average. Required minimum work hours for salaried employees makes hourly pay laughable.

I worked at Foot Locker part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discounts are pretty good, most sneaker releases you can cop not the crazy ones

    Cons

Long hours Short Breaks, once worked a 7 hour shift and denied break, low pay for maximum effort, sometimes they will threaten to not work you for 2 weeks if you don't work hard enough

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like employees and not as "Peasants". Lead them to make better don't threaten them with punishments.

I worked at Foot Locker full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Flexibility
    Fun environment
    Meet new/different people every day
    Wear comfortable clothes/shoes to work

    Cons

    High turnover
    Co-workers
Higher management is oblivious to what is really happening in the stores.
Lack of camaraderie from fellow managers
A lot of underhanded involvements from fellow managers.

    Advice to Management

LONG hours, LOW pay. Take care of your people. Company expects employees on all levels to work excessive hours, especially if it's a big project, and ignores work/life balance. A lot of the part time employees are young and this is their first job- GUIDE them. Although the work environment can be a lot of fun and diverse, it lacks organization and respect for fellow co-workers. I spent over 9 years working for this company hoping that it would somehow change for the better as the years went on. It did not matter which level I worked at or who I worked for, it never improved. High turnover has to be the result of this.

    Pros

discounted sneakers, air conditioned environment, great discount on clothes, spend time around people, comfortable uniforms, many store locations, cool products

    Cons

An employee raffle is done for upcoming sneaker releases. Only a fraction of employees secure a pair of sneakers on release date. The rest buy at a different store, or hope there is a pair left to buy the next day.

Dont expect to get a set schedule. You never get consistent days, so you cant even get a second job.

Discounts dont work for the first 30 days.

    Advice to Management

Don't choose favorites based on who has been there the longest. Be open to your new employees as well. I was the 8 months but it seemed like the lifers received the most respect from management.
