I worked at Foot Locker full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fast Paced. Good discounts since you have to wear the shoes sold within the banners . Uniform so no need to worry about what to wear everyday . Build loyal relationships with customers internal and external .

    Cons

Work/ life balance can be very challenging for management . Fiscal responsibility to stay within hours and still get the job done in big box stores can be stressful . DM's are not always supportive. HR director of the west is very questionable .

    Advice to Management

Show your appreciation to those managers who have been with the company 10+ years. Look at their entire character , performance , and what they have given to the company before you decide to let them go for something that could have easily been coached .

I worked at Foot Locker full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discount, diverse culture, ability for every day to be different

    Cons

Horrible work life balance, awful pay, management and even District management sucks

    Advice to Management

Realize people do have a life not just footlocker. Instead of boasting about being a 3 billion dollar company you might want to actually pay your employees with some of that money instead of the horrendous low pay they receive.

I have been working at Foot Locker part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being up to date on shoe releases, 30-50% discount includes champs, footaction, fun coworkers, good product to sell, working with customers, simple job, flexible hours.

    Cons

NO COMMISSION FOR SALES!! no reward for any of your work, minimum wage salary, physically tiring for long shifts walking back and forth getting customers shoes. Managers have high sales standards and expect you to go beyond the extra mile for horrible pay.

    Advice to Management

Don't expect your employees to go the extra mile for minimum wage. Bring back commission to motivate workers.

I worked at Foot Locker full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

discount of shoes, team environment, depending on the store location you can make decent money

    Cons

have to sacrifice your whole life for them. they want footlocker to be your first priority, they don't care what else you have going on as long as it does not conflict with your hours at footlocker

    Advice to Management

too much responsibility for little pay. you can be a full time stock or full timer and make the same amount you make as an assistant manager without the responsibility of having keys, waking up to open stores, dealing with the stress that come from all the work when you can just be a full timer and make the same and you can focus on you sales more which puts more money in your pocket.

I worked at Foot Locker (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You meet great ppl and the discount is pretty good. You have a chance to work in many different areas to gain experience

    Cons

The pay is so low that if you have a family even as an assistant manager you barely make enough to survive off of. The company expects you to wear yourself out but not want to pay you for your work. A lot of manipulation to get you to work harder. If you go somewhere where the traffic is more consistent they lower your pay so that you never really get ahead. BEWARE!!!

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect and train them to advance. Fight for the employees to get better pay. Employees are not cattle.
