I worked at Ford Credit full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Took voluntary separation package back in 2005. I see negativity in some reviews but grass is not always greener on the other side. Especially for Level 5 and 6 Employees. I work in Finance for a major manufacturer now and nepotism runs rampant here too..pay increases about the same as FMCC...2% - 3%. FMCC has excellent vacation benefits as well as bonus program....absolutely no profit sharing or bonus system where i am now.

    Cons

Micro Management Culture...old school work life balance attitude. Pay increases were weak at best. The best employee did not seem to get the promotion always.

    Advice to Management

Employee Engagement...study it embrace it...enact it. Stop the favoritism as it was present when i worked there and i cannot believe it is still prevalent.

I have been working at Ford Credit full-time

    Pros

Ability for growth but very selective in what type of roles you choose. Ford Motor and Ford Credit are very divided and hard to translate into the Motor Side.

    Cons

Company is very old school. Very micromanaged.

I worked at Ford Credit full-time

    Pros

Great benefits and atmosphere, great pay

    Cons

mandatory overtime that is assigned to you, whether it works with your schedule or not doesn't matter to management.

    Advice to Management

some of the managers are not friendly, care more about the bottom dollar than the employees.

I have been working at Ford Credit full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

good training opportunities, quick rotations, strong benefits, exposure to all departments

    Cons

decisions are made behind the scenes, there is a career path set for you without your input or knowledge.

    Advice to Management

Allow employees to choose their career path and help guide them along that path versus determining it for them. Allow employees to post for positions, if they are not qualified, let that be determined by the hiring manager.

I have been working at Ford Credit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work atmosphere is great! You won't find a better place to work as far as coworkers. You will look forward to going to work just so you can see your coworkers. They will become your friend. Pay is good and the schedule is not bad. Time off is great.

    Cons

You are constantly on the phone asking customers for money and negotiating. Once you advance within the company you are required to work weekends on a regular basis and a lot of holidays. The company seems to be growing a lot at the bottom level but the room for growth is limited.

    Advice to Management

Try to expand the departments that come after customer service so employees don't feel like there is a slim chance of advancing.

I worked at Ford Credit full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Friendly coworkers and on site cafeteria.

    Cons

In past 7 years, you can only get by if you are willing to kiss up. You are gauged by how well you can please managers and directors not by work performance but for all the other non-value added items (go to lunch with managers, bring cookies in, laugh at boss' jokes, blah blah blah.) Was a really fun company up until 2009 but since then limited opportunity, poor attitudes.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to who is performing well and who is not, and instead of punishing the good workers by giving them more work learn how to train and develop the poor workers so they can contribute more. The good workers get bogged down, then told their performance is suffering. This has caused entire departments to try to just skate by because you stay off management's radar.
