I have been working at Ford Credit full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent atmosphere. People really enjoy working with each other. Management made sure that employees kept a good work/life balance.

    Cons

Start up pay was competitive but annual increases were slim to none. Not many opportunities to grow beyond level 6.

I worked at Ford Credit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Competitive salary, great fitness room/lockers

    Cons

Lack of structure, lack of open and honest communication from management. For dealer services analyst, expect to work weekends/holidays.

    Advice to Management

With regard to the College Graduate/Future Leadership track, management should be open and honest with recent hires on actual expectations within the program. Driven and motivated recent college graduates will not accept being place holders within the company, waiting for someone to quite and/or move on to another company/position so they can take their place.

    Great on the job training

    Cons

Slow career advancement if you are not in a program such as: Ford Credit Leadership Development Program etc.... Varying shifts and required to work some weekends & holidays.

    Advice to Management

Provide more information to your employees on the reason why certain programs allow for faster career advancement. Create more opportunities for fast tracking career programs for employees with college degrees internally who possess the same qualifications as do the employees hired externally into the existing programs.

I worked at Ford Credit full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Took voluntary separation package back in 2005. I see negativity in some reviews but grass is not always greener on the other side. Especially for Level 5 and 6 Employees. I work in Finance for a major manufacturer now and nepotism runs rampant here too..pay increases about the same as FMCC...2% - 3%. FMCC has excellent vacation benefits as well as bonus program....absolutely no profit sharing or bonus system where i am now.

    Cons

Micro Management Culture...old school work life balance attitude. Pay increases were weak at best. The best employee did not seem to get the promotion always.

    Advice to Management

Employee Engagement...study it embrace it...enact it. Stop the favoritism as it was present when i worked there and i cannot believe it is still prevalent.

I have been working at Ford Credit full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

good training opportunities, quick rotations, strong benefits, exposure to all departments

    Cons

decisions are made behind the scenes, there is a career path set for you without your input or knowledge.

    Advice to Management

Allow employees to choose their career path and help guide them along that path versus determining it for them. Allow employees to post for positions, if they are not qualified, let that be determined by the hiring manager.

    Pros

The work atmosphere is great! You won't find a better place to work as far as coworkers. You will look forward to going to work just so you can see your coworkers. They will become your friend. Pay is good and the schedule is not bad. Time off is great.

    Cons

You are constantly on the phone asking customers for money and negotiating. Once you advance within the company you are required to work weekends on a regular basis and a lot of holidays. The company seems to be growing a lot at the bottom level but the room for growth is limited.

    Advice to Management

Try to expand the departments that come after customer service so employees don't feel like there is a slim chance of advancing.
