I have been working at ForeScout Technologies full-time

    Pros

Flexibility, diversity of experiences, the people are smart, innovative and fun to work with

    Cons

New positions/opportunities are given to external people or colleagues who are friends of the hiring manager(s). The exceptions to this are promotions within the SE organization.

    Advice to Management

Be open to feedback from your employees. Many of them have just us much experience in the industry as the managers (and sometimes more) and have great ideas to help our growing company. Be open to constructive feedback and promote your hardworkers, not just your friends.

"Fantastic Product, Growing Thought Leader, Narcissistic CEO"

I have been working at ForeScout Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Without a doubt, Forescout has the best solution in it's space. It defines it's market (Next generation network security, device visibility, automation) and is the thought leader. Customers love the product because it's easy to use and the great customer support they receive. Compensation is above average. Most of the company is totally committed to customers and go above and beyond for them. There is a great sense of teamwork and people are happy to help out which is really great. Product strategy is strong and the marketing deliverables and programs are first rate. Forescout has pretty good employee health benefits.

    Cons

There is a lot of nepotism in the company, particularly with former Intel/McAfee employees. Without a doubt this emanates from the CEO who needs a major shift in how he interacts with the company. It feels like a "good old boys/girls" network. Many people in this "club" are rewarded for average contributions or worse yet, not managed out even if their performance is sub-par. The company's 401K program is significantly below market.

    Advice to Management

Product strategy is top rate and the company should continue the path it's on. Without a doubt, the CEO needs serious self examination or a review by the board to determine if he can take Forescout to the next level. Statements around the water cooler about the CEO: Narcissist. Micro-manager. Alienator. Optimism is healthy. Arrogance is not. Passion is healthy. Megalomania is not. Believing that you can do a great job as CEO is healthy. Thinking that you always know better than others is not. Leadership is measured by attracting and retaining great talent and letting them creatively do the jobs that they are hired for. Senior management should LEAD WITH HUMILITY and recognize great performances in engineering, customer support and professional services.

    Pros

Free lunch once a year. Decent dental plan.

    Cons

This could get long. Inhale, now exhale. Inhale one more time, now exhale. Let’s start with the elementary factor. This place is like elementary school for adults. Everyone (and I mean everyone) gossip about eachother. It’s gotten to the point where HR sends out a survey asking about trust issues. Let’s just say the results were incredible (catch the sarcasm) If your not a McAffee groupie, say bye bye to career upward mobility. Being “different” is frowned upon. Ideas are curbed and not welcome. Process seems to be important, but process changes every 36 hours. C Level execs believe that they walk on water. It’s weird. I’ve literally heard a VP say they were the Salesforce God, like dude you just ran a report, big deal. Most managers have no clue how to manage their own lives (openly talk about divorce, drunken nights, drug use, etc) there’s a saying, “if your the smartest person in the room, your in the wrong room” well folks, you will always be the smartest person the room at this hen house. If you are interviewing at this company, TAKE A HARD LOOK AT THESE REVIEWS. It’s almost as if there was some sort of directive from management to write positive ones (great benefits, great wages) get a grip, anyone with a IQ of 10 could see through these false postings. Talent at Forescout disappears faster than a fart in a fan factory. If you enjoy some dude in Australia telling you what to do, clicky gossip groups, no career advancement, and colleagues who are on their way out - then by all means, come join this narcissistic, egotistical, big headed company. Chances are you will end up quitting, getting a new job elsewhere, or let go within a month. People here will try to communicate that this company is a start up. Well, this value-less company is 17 years old about to graduate high school. You will be a very sad individual if you join this company, I promise you that.

    Advice to Management

You can’t control what you can’t see. DAMN.

    Pros

Great Company culture and awesome product!

    Cons

They are trying to go public, so lots of pressure.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at your SE managers, some of them should not be managers as they have had 18 months to learn to be managers. Also in some markets they hire their friends and run their team is like a mafia family.

    Pros

Love the team culture here. Everyone is willing to tackle the challenges and lend a hand at any time. Leadership team defines the work hard/play hard dynamic and this can be one of the most fun places to work. High value on culture, diversity and quality of workplace life.

    Cons

Still a startup in many ways - relatively flat org chart doesn't provide the career ladder that a behemoth tech company would.

    Pros

Great product, great executive management and middle management teams that listen and apply what they're hearing from the field and from various customers. Great benefits, Work hard, play hard type of atmosphere. Great CEO that is fantastic in front of customers.

    Cons

None to share at this time.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. I've been impressed, every step of the way.

I worked at ForeScout Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits good for the first year, then cut down- Snacks, lunch (once a week) - A few good women/men

    Cons

TAC (support), Professional Services, Resident Engineers struggle without clear Leadership. No labs to recreate customer issues, no QA for upcoming releases. A complex solution that integrates with 3rd parties without SME's. Q3 2016 they slow down the hiring, but most of the Sales team left... like others mentioned STAY AWAY if you want a career path.

    Advice to Management

Customer support organization is a JOKE, you have no clue of what you are doing and only care about "fictitious" numbers...
Micro-management is not equal to Leadership
If you are not in Mike's Circle....... no career advancement here.
