    Pros

for an entry level position in and around NY borough, Forest Lab provides good enough foundation for later on endeavors

    Cons

Nepotism, Favoritism, incompenet and cluless managment, unfair evaluation, salary raise in below satisfactory

    Advice to Management

Have competent managment who know there stuff, stop hiring third grade level scientist from India and China. Major overhall in the R&D section from top to bottom.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Great company to work for, provide good benefits and healthcare options, work life balance is great. CO seems like they have a good pipeline

    Cons

IT department is a total wreck. Both CIO and IT Corporate SVP lack integrity, effectiveness and honesty. No transparency. Management spends unnecessary budget to get the same or higher budget following years. Give too much business to friends and relatives.
It is also disappointing to see multiple internal fraud instances over last few years in IT but the top management culprits are not held responsible.

Great company, CEO, CFO are extremely bright but If you want to work for Forest, avoid Informatics department by all means.

    Advice to Management

Remove CIO and SVP Corporate IT and directs. Appoint new CIO and IT management .Make the department better and there will be no negative impact to the company.

I worked at Forest Labs full-time

    Pros

.....having a car, but that's an industry standard so...

    Cons

In my opinion Forest is a place that a person should plan on using as a stepping stone to better places in the Pharmaceutical industry. The company so mishandles their representatives in almost every way imaginable that it is hard to know where to begin a review of the sales side of Forest.

Pharmaceutical sales at Forest could be a place where one can grow both professionally and personally. A job where one can acquire the tools to turn problems into solutions. It could be a place where much can be accomplished with the proper approach and mentality … where the focus IS NOT on what the rep has to say, but what the doctor and patient NEED.

The measure of “success” at Forest is getting 80% signatures for samples from supposed "A" targets. This means that docs are dealing with multiple Forest reps with basically the same products (weekly mind you) leading to extreme oversampling. This culture gives rise to reps falling over one another to get their call quotas in for the day. Anyone with prior experience knows this is a failed model… precisely why they only hire candidates with little to no pharma experience.

The culture here is unbelievably poor -lack of professionalism, tact, & awareness. Back-Stabbing and Back-Biting is rampant… supposed team members trying to outdo each other, badmouthing, withholding information, ect. --- Instead of working together as one unit to be successful and bring value to an office. This is my honest evaluation. I can typically see the good in a bad situation but this time it was not possible.

    Advice to Management

Make a true investment in managed care, improve/change the culture ASAP, and value your reps.

    Pros

Launch and call experience. Initial corporate training was solid. Profit sharing.

    Cons

Terribly micromanaged, incompetent managers, highly immature sales people. Lowest paying company in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring inexperienced and hire tenured reps and pay them!

I worked at Forest Labs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company offers work that could have great career potential, except that Forest would rather use a temp worker for four years and never hire him, then lay him off while he is still a temp. The employees are generally good to work with though, and the work itself is interesting.

    Cons

This company does not care about its employees. It only really cares about profits. The fact that they kept a temp worker on for four years without hiring him is absolutely disgraceful.

    Advice to Management

Develop compassion and emotions and a sense of gratitude and loyalty to your employees, including temporary workers!

    Pros

Good culture, co-workers are good to work with.

    Cons

I was so grossly under paid for the job I was doing. I had to finally take a full time job after the recession. I had been working for over 20 years yet they paid me as though I was an entry level person. Even my title was entry level. That's how they got around paying me nothing.

I have been working at Forest Labs full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company values were strong, work-life balance was available, picnic and great holiday parties were fun, good rapport with coworkers.

    Cons

NOW... toxic, tense, unstable, unreliable - new CEO and his home-grown staff are home-grown liars.

    Advice to Management

You reap what you sow - you accepted a deal that has created chaos in the lives of Forest employees. Only the employees are suffering as you and your people have safely negotiated your millions. You don't feel the pain of your actions now, buddy, but what you do here, you pay for here. Don't ever fool yourself into thinking you'll be sheltered from this cruel and heartless act. Nothing is forever, remember that.
